On 2 September 2018, Kansas University released a summation of a study on how gun owners affect politics. The study will be presented at the American Political Science Association annual meeting in 2018, in Boston.
A problem all scientists face is overcoming assumptions about reality they have already made. It is particularly true in social sciences such as political science. In such studies, it is very difficult to keep the world view of the person studying a subject from influencing the study.
Most political scientists today subscribe to the Progressive political philosophy. It seems to be the case in the study of gun owners.
Consider the statements in the press release.
“Part of the reason majority opinions on gun control legislation aren't turning into policy is that gun owners are a very strong political group who hold a lot of weight and hold a lot of influence despite being a minority in American politics,” said Abbie Vegter, a graduate student in political science.
Vegter is collaborating on the research with KU political science professors Don Haider-Markel and Mark Joslyn. They are presenting their findings, “Motivated Voices: Gun Ownership and the Propensity for Political Participation,” Sept. 2 as part of the American Political Science Association's annual meeting in Boston.

It’s called the Constitution. Not like us in Washington State, which allows “Voter Referendums” - where the majority can vote in dumb laws like the current one up for a vote.
“Keep assault weapons out of the hands of minors!” (In the 30+ pages it details that a tube-fed .22 is an “assault weapon”, and that if grandpa wants to buy himself a new gun, he will have to have had a state certified gun safety class within the last five years. I haven’t read the entire thing, but something also about “safe” gun storage.

I think she means the responses to manipulated poll questions that don't tell the whole story.
Political science is the mother of oxymorons.
At my alma mater, as in all others, the students who cannot hack real courses go into poli sci.
Then into law and politics.
Political– not empirical– science is the basis of the global warming hoax.
Political science is the fig leaf of legitimacy that all Progressive schemes require.
Political science, its adherents, precepts and conclusions should be dismissed out of hand by anyone concerned with their own safety and security.

You are on to something. The Russia probe is bothersome. The Kavanaugh railroading has disgusted me unlike any other political episode in my lifetime.
The beauty of rights is that they aren’t subject to majority opinion.
Leftists are horrible people who want to control you.
First leftists use propaganda to ‘convince’ you to do their bidding.
If that fails, then leftists will call you names and denigrate you into submitting to their demands.
If that fails, leftists will pass a law to threaten you into submission by use of the government’s monopoly on force.
If that fails, leftists will single you out, and threaten bodily harm.
If that fails, leftists will actually harm you...but only bad enough that they will suffer no ill consequences while you now are constantly in fear of the next physical assault.
If that does not work, the government will take action against you by fining you, taking your property or jailing you.
If that does not work, leftists, through the government, will take all of your property, and send you into forced labor.
And finally, if that does not work, leftists will kill you.
