President Donald Trump says he will sign a spending bill to avert a looming government shutdown set to begin Monday.
Speaking at the United Nations, Trump told reporters Wednesday,

He needed to get it off the table.
“Pryor or Barrett”
if the gop cant confirm BK what makes you think they will even try, after the midterms. to nominate either one??
might see Garland ...
So, a promise and a Never Again mea culpa ignored.
Yes, it’s the right move for now. After the Midterms, POTUS can step up the pressure to fund the Wall. He actually has the authority and the budget inside the military to go ahead with the Wall but he wants Congress to come along with him. So we’ll see after the Midterms how Congress responds.
The American people want the Wall so it’s a mystery why GOP members are not running on the Wall issue.
I’m fine with this.
I would rather see Kavanaugh get through and clean up in the midterms. 52 more days isn’t going to kill us at this point.
Garland is a child molester.
Our system pretty much requires 2 elections to get something done that the people want.
Especially when the international news media oppose.
Yes, I think signing this now has something to do with Kavanaugh. Otherwise, it would be a good issue to take into the mid-terms.
Well, we are playing a long game.
If we do well midterm we will get the money out of the new congress....
oh really?
so how many dem votes will that cost him?
Trump is not the problem getting wall money...

It’s mostly undocumented Democrats in R jerseys.
0 but that still leaves him a couple of votes short.
Nothing ever changes. 2 years after the voters gave them a Repub president and both chambers, including the rep from my district, it is the same old “stuff.” I am fed up to the ears.
I think even Trump is finally getting it — there will be no wall. Campaign fodder to be recycled in 2020.
Not blaming Trump necessarily but he has not been able to persuade anyone in Congress to climb aboard. He is all on his own on this wall deal.
In the cesspool known as DC, yes, he is.
Outside the Beltway? Au contraire...And until the House and Senate find a way to elect themselves to office, they still need voters, the majority of whom want the dang wall.
Early last year, he said it would be September of last year. Earlier this year, he said never again.
Well, here we are. No, it isn't smart. It isn't chess. He is listening to lawyers and consultants instead of doing what he should.
Goodness, we've been hearing that for 10 years now. At what point do we actually get rewarded, FFS?
