The writer is clearly talking about Democrats, not Republicans. Bill Clinton, Democrat, walks. Bill Cosby, Republican, goes to jail.
Democrats walk. Republicans have their reputations wrecked, and/or go to jail.

Everyone should remember the great Democrat quote from the Clarence Thomas hearing, when Anita Hill came out of the blue to do exactly the same thing to Thomas.
That it was not the credibility of the evidence that matters, but *the seriousness of the accusations*.
Importantly, this not only turns the legal rules of every civilized nation upside down, but negates even the rules of *basic fairness* and turns things into a show trial, a kangaroo court.
And it is not just for supreme court justices: the Democrats actually *believe* in such fascism, and try to put it in practice everywhere.
Democrats actually want to reduce America to committing show trials, as were done in the Soviet Union under Stalin.
For further evidence, look to many universities right now, where a male student just *accused* of sexual harassment, is stripped of their right to an attorney, to cross examination, to appeal, etc. They even try to prevent them from taking the university to court, because very few courts can tolerate such blatant and offensive fascism.
And even if the student wins, it is usually paid for with taxpayer money, and the fascist prosecutor keeps their job and tries to cover their legal bases in the future while still oppressing others.
