Easy fix for the problem. Congress should declare Election Day as a federal holiday, and encourage private companies and organizations to add Election Day to the list of paid holidays.
Election Day should be on Saturday or Sunday..................
NO ONE should e paid for 8 hours pay when it only takes a short time to vote.
Polls are open at 7 AM & often still open to 8 PM. That is enough. I do know that many employers will not dock you for being late if you get stuck in a line in the AM, and if you can prove you voted-—with the sticker they hand you.
Paying someone for the day off ‘to vote’ still doesn’t prove that your employees DID VOTE.
