Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge.
Per a second source with direct knowledge: Hes expecting to be fired, so plans to step down. Background: Rosenstein talked last year invoking the 25th Amendment and wearing a wire during Trump meetings, the N.Y. Times' Adam Goldman and Michael S. Schmidt reported last week. He denied both allegations.

This would be a huge "favor" to President Trump from a guy who hates him.
Sounds like wishful thinking to me. I'll believe it when I see it.

That’s good then. Resignation would indicate to me that his denial wasn’t flying and was in fact a lie.

Guess he waited through the weekend to see if Trump could be goaded into firing him. Now that that didn’t pan out, he’ll resign. Long overdue. Now, someone please wake up Sessions so he can resign as well. Who to replace both?

He might get better retirement benefits from resigning rather than being fired for cause.
