Kavanaugh can be confirmed at any time. The Republicans adopted a goal to have him confirmed and seated before the 2018-2019 term of the Court, but he can be confirmed and seated at any time. By tradition, new Justices do not participate in cases unless they are present for oral arguments.

That's why I think the best scenario for the GOP is to have this run all the way out close to Election Day.
In fact, you may even see evidence that the Democrats realize their vulnerability here. Look for some pressure inside the Senate from DEMOCRATS to get Buzzy Ford out of the headlines.

If something like the party CBF described actually occurred, lots of people may have heard about it, including Kavanaugh. Teen age boys like to brag about this kind of stuff.
Since Kavanaugh played football and basketball in high school, he was almost undoubtedly aware of some of the more wild behavior by his classmates.
He must have been aware that he could have been tarred by association when he was going through the vetting process for The SC.
But you are right— if he was actually at the party or in the room, his goose is cooked.

I can’t believe that more people do do not see the reason for these postponements . Grassley does not have the votes thanks to a few squishy Republicans. He is doing what he has to do to get the needed votes.
I don’t think Monday has been canceled yet.If the vote can be pushed off until the following Monday then it will not happen and K’a time is up and the Republicans’ time is up in November and the Nation’ time shortly after.

Sorry but it is NoT over. What was she doing at a party with older boys? What was she doing drinking at her age? Why did she go UPSTAIRS and into a BEDROOM with TWO BOYS? It is damn sure nobody carried her upstairs and nobody forced her into a bedroom with two boys. IF anything happened which I doubt, she has nobody to blame but herself!!!!! She instigated whatever happened IF anything happened, and SHE should pay for it, not anybody else.
She claims she went upstairs to use the bathroom and the two boys pulled her into the bedroom.
