If Abe, who quit abruptly after a troubled 2006-07 term, stays in office through November 2019, he will have exceeded the 2,886 days marked by Taro Katsura in the early 20th century.
"I want to tackle constitutional reform together with all of you," Abe told his Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) after the vote.

“Consumption taxes are conservative. Income taxes are progressive. This is fact.”
Per capita taxes are not progressive, consumption and income taxes are both progressive. “Conservative tax” is is just an oxymoron.
It is well know that sales taxes and tariffs are not progressive at all in any way. Where did you learn economics from, comic books?

Typical sales tax systems, which are generally called “flat” as opposed to “progressive”, usually exclude food, clothing, and other necessities, and usually include “luxuries”. If you are “poor”, much of your “consumption” is exempt, and if you are “rich”, most of your “consumption” is not exempt.
Since YOU started with the ad hominem attacks, I’ll play your game — “anyone who is not an idiot can see that sales tax systems are effectively progressive, not flat,” idiot.
Sales taxes are not progressive just because something is exempt. EVERYONE gets the exemption billionaires and paupers alike. Wow, you economically ignorant.
