Journalist Jeff Greenfield, writing in the September 17 Politico magazine, somehow can't figure out the real reason "Why Woodward's 'Fear' Flopped in Washington." Greenfield makes a light attempt to find out the reason for the flop but seems to be unable to see the all too obvious.
So let us join Greenfield as he stumbles around while ignoring the very large elephant in the room whose stink is something that liberals don't want to dwell on, which is that Woodward couldn't find evidence of Trump-Russia collusion:

You just have to know that Woodward spent over a year desperately trying to find Trump-Russia collusion and when he could find no evidence, he just went into Michael Wolff gossip clown mode with his book chock full of second and third hand gossip.
Every voter who voted for President Trump is required to go vote for the continuation of his presidency on November 6. He is depending on that.
I think that all the fun parts were contained in the first day’s newspaper articles summarizing the book, and the rest is things everyone knew already.
The only reason “Fear” is doing well is coffe-table virtue signalling.
Most of the buyers don’t even read it.
Psst—all those anti-Trump books that end up no selling in rally big numbers is not exactly environmentally-friendly, that’s to be sure.
A total waste of good lumber.
Woodward was a tool for the FBI back in the day. They would leak classified information to him very much like they are doung today.
