No reason to delay confirmation.

>>>Ford alleges that while at a party Kavanaugh pinned her down on a bed, tried to remove her clothes and covered her mouth when she tried to protest<<<

Gee, you would think he did that last week. I guess they made a silly mistake by forgetting to mention it was 36 Years ago when Ford and Kavanaugh were Teenagers.

It was stupid to set this farce for Monday. They should have had this hearing tomorrow and had the vote Thursday as scheduled. This is the usual pathetically weak leadership that Republicans embarrass us with time after time.

Ford's lawyer released a letter calling for an FBI investigation into her allegation.

Has her client made any kind of sworn statement, or does she want the FBI to investigate every wild rumor that comes along?

The Dems have something further up their sleeve. I’m sure of it.

No reason to delay except her acting coach says, “You’re not there yet, hon. Once more, from the top...”

While in principle I agree the vote should proceed as scheduled, there could be a tactical advantage to a short delay.

The longer this farce lasts (hopefully no later than Monday) the more Democrats will overplay their hand.

They will slip-up. They will contradict themselves (and each other). The 'evidence' they present will become glaringly absurd. More holes will be found in Ms. Fords' story.

Ms. Fords' demands for an FBI investigation (one the FBI does not want to get involved in) and her reticence to testify in a public setting with cameras only degrades her credibility.

While Democrats rage their protests will signify nothing.

There might be more accusations, according to a threat from Frankenstein. The Senators had best ignore the noise now and get it done.

Good. Let her be the one that is a no show - she doesn’t want to have to explain why she would only send the letter to Democrats and not to Grassley and the FBI also from the start, her history of far-left activism, and why she would have had a polygraph back in August if she wasn’t coordinating. Feinstein should also undergo questioning as to when she received the letter, asked about the number of conversations she had with Grassley regarding the nomination and if she brought it up to him on any of those occasions over the last 2 months, asked the number of discussions she had with Judge Kavanaugh directly, the length of time these conversations took place, and if she informed him at any time about these allegations, etc. We already know the answer, but it would be important and effective to nail it down and demonstrate how underhanded, unprofessional, and dishonest this has been.

yeah, i’m pretty sure the FBI is supposed to FULLY investigate every reported incident of high-school children wresting with their clothes on at a party, especially incidents reported 35 years later ...

I’ve had my issues with Grassley over the years, but I have to say he is handling this exquisitely.
