“’I think it derailed me substantially for four or five years,’ she said. She struggled academically and socially, she said, and was unable to have healthy relationships with men.”

A 15-year old female normally doesn’t have “relationships” with men.

Wikipedia claims she was born in 1967.

“She graduated in 1984 from Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland.

“She earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988.”

“Ford first started teaching at Stanford University in 1988.”

Her academic progress doesn’t seem to have gotten derailed.

If she supposedly "struggled academically", then HOW did she get into college, graduate from high school and college, go on to graduate school and get a job/s ?

She's married, has 4 children, so did she not date any boys/men in between this party and meeting/marrying her now husband?

Her statement is just weird!

Absolutely. A 15 year old girl is still a child, and should be focused on sports, school, and friends! You cannot be “derailed” at that age by a supposed “attempted” attack via a make out session gone bad. I have several friends who were actual victims of real attacks - this pathetic, scripted, ambush, is an insult to every one of them.
