Without the emergence of new evidence, we will never know if Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation against Brett Kavanaugh is true or not. And there’s nothing Kavanaugh can do or say that will clear his name. If you’re a man, a single uncorroborated account that dates back to 1982 is all your political critics need to accuse you of attempted rape.
It’s worth remembering that these Democrat tactics aren’t only meant to sink this nomination — should they end up forcing Kavanaugh to withdraw — but also to damage the credibility of any Supreme Court featuring Trump-nominated (or, let’s be honest, Republican-nominated) justices. Democrats have been dishonestly challenging the “legitimacy” of the court throughout these hearings. They don’t want to abide by any authority that treats the Constitution seriously, because it’s often the only thing standing in the way of their coercive policies.

Even Ford didn’t go so far as to say he’d raped her so Benson needs to drop that bit.
The book in question had some pencil marks of some kind.

If all allegations were 100% true, they refer to non-criminal behavior 36 years ago when Kavanaugh was a minor whose judgment was impaired by alcohol, completely inconsistent with his behavior or character before or since. They have no relevance to his qualifications to be a justice. And apparently the only evidence of this non-crime is an evolving, 30-year-old, fragmented, recovered/discovered memory of a Democrat activist politically hostile to his appointment.
All that matters is the votes of the squishy GOP Senators and those of the vulnerable red-state Democrats, who all desperately seek any excuse for a “no” vote. If McConnell were serious about this, he’d threaten to go Medieval on them for misbehaving.
I am holding out hope that McConnell, the master of the Senate, comes through again. Not a fan of the guy, but credit where credit is due, the guy can get it done if he wants to.
Additionally, Trump’s recent remarks did seem to telegraph that this is a done deal. So I hope so.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Tuesday raised the possibility that next week’s high-stakes open hearing to examine the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh could be canceled if the accuser doesn’t accept the committee’s invitation.
Grassley, R-Iowa, scheduled a hearing for Monday for Kavanaugh and accuser Christine Blasey Ford to answer questions from senators about the allegation. But Grassley said during a Tuesday radio interview that his office has reached out several times to Ford and her attorneys to discuss her allegation, but has heard nothing back.

I suspect that Monday’s hearing, if indeed there is one, will be a zoo. Code Pink and other groups will be there and I doubt that the nominee will get little chance to talk. This is what things have become.

Yesterday, a FReeper mentioned Judge Jeanine Pirro. That would be a brilliant choice to replace RBG if only to spite the left.
They keep demanding the FBI investigate this but of she doesn’t remember the date or place what are they supposed to investigate?
