Al Franken was forced out over a grope of a sleeping woman. If he didn't voluntarily step down, he might have been expelled. Roy Moore would have been refused a seat for pursuing teenage girls. Bob Packwood, John Conyers, were forced out.
Sure, it's harder to oust a judge, but still comes down to what the politicians think the public will accept, regardless of what the standard of any actual procedural process has to be followed.
Rather than play process games, we should be playing to the court of public opinion, and force this question onto everyone who is waffling on confirming Brett Kavanaugh: is he a danger or is he not?

Removal of a federal judge requires impeachment.
All of them had a fair amount of proof behind the allegations.
Kavanaugh, not so much...
> Al Franken was forced out
Didn’t look like that to me. More like he saw an opportunity to make an exit and took it. Very odd that he was the one who brought up his own scandal, ain’t it?
Franken didn’t even grope the woman. He just posed for a stupid picture.
I was afraid the Demons would kick him out, replace him with another Demon and use that as the High Ground to go after the President and other Republicans.
