I initially ignored your rude response. Was it really necessary to personally insult me for some reason? I made a simple and reasonable statement that I would expect a professional guide testing in grizzly country to carry a large caliber handgun for protection of himself and his client. I stand by my statement.

Now we have more information. It appears that there guide was armed only with bear spray, used it, and it was ineffective.
