A long, thoughtful article on the 2018 battle for Congress got me thinking. Is it possible for the good folks at Free Republic to whip up a few short, punchy scripts for election commercials aimed at television and webcasting audiences? Perhaps excerpting the aforementioned article would be helpful:
How Republicans Could Still Win
A forthcoming poll suggests ways they can persuade voters in swing districts.
This was a week of gloomy midterm polls for the Republican Party, with a wave of results projecting a Democratic takeover of the House and maybe even the Senate. But not all polls are created equal. If Republicans bother to read just one, it should be a yet-unreleased survey that tells a more nuanced story.
The data come courtesy of the Club for Growth, a conservative outfit that plays to win. The clubs donors expect it to place smart bets in elections, which it cant do if it relies on feel-good data. It uses WPAi, the data firm that in 2016 found Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson really did have a shot at re-election, then crafted the messages that got him the money and votes for victory.
WPAi just handed the club in-depth polling of the people who matter most this midterm1,000 likely voters in 41 competitive House districts. The results are quietly making their way to Republican leaders, and the club agreed to give me an advance look. Bottom line: Many of these races are winnableif Republicans have the courage of their convictions and get smarter in tailoring their messages to voters.

Narrator speaks with a tone of joy as camera soars over peaceful neighborhood with children playing and gentle old folks walking quietly on the sidewalk past middle-class homes. "This is our country. This is America."
Narrator continues with an optimistic tone as video sequences show visual evidence of booming economy and falling unemployment: "The economy is growing fast. People have jobs again."
Narrator grows somber and continues: "But the Democratic Party has other ideas."
Narrator continues in a somber tone as video sequences flash by of MS-13 thugs grinning and flashing gang signs. "Many Democratic politicians want violent criminals on your streets."
Narrator continues with a disappointed tone as images flash by of unhappy people in overcrowded hospital waiting rooms: "They want to ruin your health care with their badly broken Obamacare scheme."
Narrator continues sadly as a CGI video shows a heap of cash crumbling into dust and homes falling down into dust and decay: "They want to crush you with high taxes and halt the economic boom in the name of extremist policies."
Narrator takes on an upbeat tone across images of thousands of smiling people standing in a political rally with little American flags: "You deserve the freedom to choose your own doctors. You deserve to be safe in your own community. You deserve the American dream of a secure future for your family."
Narrator takes on a stronger tone as the campaign's smiling, confident Republican candidate appears: "Please vote for a strong, free, wealthy America. Send Senator George Everyman to Congress to protect your dream."
Everyone on FR should get involved in the grass roots get-out-the-vote.
I will repeal commie care, or resign.
I will build the wall, or resign.
My add: Illegal Immigrants receive 135 billion dollars a year in taxpayer assistance. This is money that should be used to save Social Security and for a national infrastructure plan. Stop the Democrat giveaway to Illegals and put the American people first.
I got an email asking for help with boots on the ground / door knocking in NJ and Missouri, including $ for expenses.
I am a little long in the tooth for that, but would be willing to do phone banking from home as I did during the 2016. Everyone should contact their local Rep club and ask how they can help/
You’ve got my vote.
Good, tough ads are running in the PA/NJ area.
NARRATOR: This is the Democratic Party.
SCENE: The various demonstrators who disputed the Kavanaugh hearings are displayed more and more rapidly until the sounds are chaotic.
NARRATOR: This is the Democratic Party on drugs.
SCENE: The demonstrators dressed as handmaidens from the Netflix TV serious are displayed.
NARRATOR: Do these people look ready to govern? (a beat) Vote Republican on November 6.
Hey, now, Publius — that’s a darned good basis for a punchy commercial that highlights the frantic obstructionism of the Democratic Party in all its batloon glory. ^_^
lots of video material in Steve Bannon’s movie, “ Trump @ War” ...
Anything helps as long were making the effort. I expect to canvas
Ssnnifff, now its all your fault because the mean republicans caused the demon rats to cry and Lie. < /tissue box >
The left wants chaos (distractions) and misery.
Economic collapse provides excuse for “radical changes”.
And there are key figures in the “new democrat” socialist revolution of the 60s and 70s who were certifiably crazy and an undercurrent of closing mental institutions and proclaiming that down is up.
the “demonstrators” were politically connected activists who were granted access by the Democrats. Same as when they were giving access passes to members of Code Pink who used them to interrupt proceedings and tried to attack government officials with paint stained hands.
>>My add: Illegal Immigrants receive 135 billion dollars a year in taxpayer assistance.
and tens of billions are wired HOME by these same people. They aren’t needy. They got their money and sent it out of the US economy to their homes where it will go farther. Uncle Sugar will give them some money so they don’t starve.

1) People get paid - a lot - for this. I don’t work for free and neither should you.
2) I hate republicans almost as much as democrats
bump
Hows that going?
