I was taught home position years ago. It didn’t make me a good typist. I don’t think it’s as efficient as it was promoted to be at the time. My son flies across the keyboard and he is self taught.

So when my fingers are at home position, the finger that would reach for the V or B key is the same index finger on the F key.

I've seen some youngsters who can type almost as fast as they think. I'm fast by old school standards, but some of these kids leave me in the dust.
