During President Bill Clinton's 1996 campaign for re-election, several individuals allegedly worked on behalf of the Chinese government to influence the presidential election in favor of Clinton.
"Chinagate" began when the Los Angeles Times reported, a couple months before the '96 election, the following:
"The Democratic National Committee has returned a $250,000 contribution from a recently established subsidiary of a South Korean electronics company because it violated a ban on donations from foreign nationals in U.S. elections, a party spokesman said Friday. ..."
DNC did the standard "Oops, we made a boo-boo, here's your money back, it's all OK now" dog and pony show.
That worked for a while. But a few months later, on Feb. 13, 1997, The Washington Post's Bob Woodward and Brian Duffy reported:
"A Justice Department investigation into improper political fundraising activities has uncovered evidence that representatives of the People's Republic of China sought to direct contributions from foreign sources to the Democratic National Committee before the 1996 presidential campaign, officials familiar with the inquiry said.
"The Chinese effort to win influence with the Clinton administration can be traced to 1993, one source said.
Some investigators suspected a Chinese connection to the current fundraising scandal because several DNC contributors and major fundraisers had ties to Beijing.
Last February, Charles Yah Lin Trie, a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee, used his influence with party officials to bring Wang Jun, head of a weapons trading company owned by the Chinese military, to a White House coffee with Clinton.

CHINA WILL LIKELY replace the USA as world leader, said Bill Clinton in a recent Washington Post interview. It is just a matter of time. Clinton should know. He has personally done more to build China's military strength than any man on earth.
Most Americans have heard of the so-called "Chinagate " scandal. Few understand its deadly import, however. Web sites such as "Chinagate for Dummies" and its companion "More Chinagate for Dummies" offer some assistance. Unfortunately, with a combined total of nearly 8,000 words, these two sites - like so many others of the genre - offer more detail than most of us "dummies" can absorb.
For that reason, in the 600 words left in this column, I will try to craft my own "Idiot's Guide to Chinagate," dedicated to all those busy folks like you and me whose attention span tends to peter out after about 750 words.
Here goes.
When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, China presented little threat to the United States. Chinese missiles "couldn't hit the side of a barn," notes Timothy W. Maier of Insight magazine. Few could reach North America and those that made it would likely miss their targets.
Thanks to Bill Clinton, China can now hit any city in the USA, using state-of-the-art, solid-fueled missiles with dead-accurate, computerized guidance systems and multiple warheads.
China probably has suitcase nukes as well. These enable China to strike by proxy - equipping nuclear-armed terrorists to do their dirty work, while the Chinese play innocent. Some intelligence sources claim that China maintains secret stockpiles of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons on U.S. soil, for just such contingencies.
In 1997, Clinton allowed China to take over the Panama Canal. The Chinese company Hutchison Whampoa leased the ports of Cristobal and Balboa, on the east and west openings of the canal respectively, thus controlling access both ways. A public outcry stopped Clinton in 1998 from leasing California's Long Beach Naval Yard to the Chinese firm COSCO. Even so, China can now strike U.S. targets easily from their bases in Panama, Vancouver and the Bahamas.
How did China catch up so fast? Easy. We sold them all the technology they needed - or handed it over for free.
Neither neglect nor carelessness are to blame. Bill Clinton did it on purpose.
As a globalist, Clinton promotes "multipolarity"-the doctrine that no country (such as the USA) should be allowed to gain decisive advantage over others.
To this end, Clinton appointed anti-nuclear activist Hazel O'Leary to head the Department of Energy. O'Leary set to work "leveling the playing field," as she put it, by giving away our nuclear secrets. She declassified 11 million pages of data on U.S. nuclear weapons and loosened up security at weapons labs.
Federal investigators later concluded that China made off with the "crown jewels"of our nuclear weapons research under Clinton's open-door policy - probably including design specifications for suitcase nukes.
Meanwhile, Clinton and his corporate cronies raked in millions.
In his book The China Threat, Washington Times correspondent Bill Gertz describes how the system worked. Defense contractors eager to sell technology to China poured millions of dollars into Clinton's campaign. In return, Clinton called off the dogs. Janet Reno and other counterintelligence officials stood down while Lockheed Martin, Hughes Electronics, Loral Space & Communications and other U.S. companies helped China modernize its nuclear strike force.
"We like your president. We want to see him reelected," former Chinese intelligence chief General Ji Shengde told Chinagate bagman Johnny Chung.
Indeed, Chinese intelligence organized a massive covert operation aimed at tilting the 1996 election Clinton's way.
Clinton's top campaign contributors for 1992 were Chinese agents; his top donors in 1996 were U.S. defense contractors selling missile technology to China.
Clinton received funding directly from known or suspected Chinese intelligence agents, among them James and Mochtar Riady who own the Indonesian Lippo Group; John Huang; Charlie Trie; Ted Sioeng; Maria Hsia; Wang Jun and others.
Commerce Secretary Ron Brown served as Clinton's front man in many Chinagate deals. When investigators began probing Browns Lippo Group and Chinagate connections, Brown died suddenly in a suspicious April 1996 plane crash.
Needless to say, China does not share Clinton's enthusiasm for globalism or multipolarity. The Chinese look out for Number One.
"War [with the United States] is inevitable; we cannot avoid it," said Chinese Defense Minister General Chi Haotian in 2000. "The issue is that the Chinese armed forces must control the initiative in this war."
Bill Clinton has given them a good start.

The Chinagate fundraising scandal plagued the 1996 Bill Clinton-Al Gore campaign and Hillary was very much involved. Chinagate aka Commercegate is the most serious scandal in U.S. history. It involves the transfer of Americas most sensitive technology, including but not limited to nuclear missile and satellite technology, apparently in exchange for millions of dollars in contributions to the 1996 Clinton-Gore re-election effort and the Democratic National Committee.
...
The scandal was an apparent scheme by the Clinton administration to sell seats on taxpayer-funded trade missions in exchange for campaign contributions to the 1996 Clinton-Gore campaign.
Judicial Watch began an investigation and Clinton administration officials deliberately concealed and destroyed records regarding the trade mission and testimony was falsified.
Nolanda Hill, a business partner and confidante of the Clinton then-Commerce Secretary Ron Brown testified in a court hearing during the litigation that the Clinton White House told Brown to delay the [Judicial Watch] case by withholding the production of documents prior to the 1996 elections and to devise a way not to comply with the courts orders.
She also testified that Brown, who died in a plane crash during a trade mission to Bosnia, told her that Hillary conceived of the scheme to sell trade mission seats. Brown complained of being Hillarys blankety-blank tour guide.

The White House has been grappling all week with revelations of a meeting the presidents eldest son held last year with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, who was said to have dirt on Hillary Clinton as part of a Russian government effort to help the Trump campaign.
But Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders used Wednesdays off-camera briefing to highlight DNC and Clinton ties to foreign governments including Russia and Ukraine.
If were looking at Russia relationships with anybody, it would be directly with the Clintons, she said, citing examples of a speech former President Bill Clinton gave in Russia for which he reportedly earned over $500,000 and reports of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton selling what Sanders described as a third of the worlds uranium, to Russia.

More than nine months after the FBI opened its highly classified counterintelligence investigation into alleged coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, FBI lawyer Lisa Page said investigators still could not say whether there was collusion, according to a transcript of Pages recent closed-door deposition reviewed by Fox News.
I think this represents that even as far as May 2017, we still couldnt answer the question, Page said.
Page was responding to Republican Rep. John Ratcliffe of Texas, who wanted more information about a May 2017 text where Page, and her then colleague and lover FBI agent Peter Strzok discussed the merits of joining Special Counsel Robert Muellers team.
Page sat for the transcribed interview before the House Judiciary and Oversight committees in mid-July as part of a joint congressional investigation into the Justice Departments handling of the Russia and Clinton email probes.
According to the transcript, Page stopped mid-answer....sorry. Can I consult with counsel? Im sorry. I need to consult with FBI counsel for a moment.
Sections of the transcript reviewed by Fox show Ratcliffe pursued the line of questioning at least three more times, and Page provided varying answers. ...
Still seeking collusion statute.
But I can say that Lisa Page left me with the impression, based on her own words, that the lead investigator of the Russian collusion case, Peter Strzok, had found no evidence of collusion after nearly a year.
The precise American designed guidance systems that make stealthy missiles very accurate were licensed to China with a waiver granted to the Chinese by the Clinton Administration. The Chinese have developed stealthy land based and shipborne missiles Not only have the Chinese deployed these missiles but they have been sold to Iran. They are deployed on the shores of the Persian Gulf and in Syria. They are an existential threat to the US Navy and Israel. Clinton was essentially a traitor.

$2 million Chinese Donor to Clinton Foundation, caught up in Chinese cash-for-votes scandal---surfaces in Virginia
Wang Wenliang, a Chinese billionaire and donor to the Clinton Foundation and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, has been expelled from Chinas top legislature after being caught up in a widespread cash-for-votes scheme. On Tuesday, Chinas national legislature expelled 45 of its nearly 2,900 members, all from the northeastern province of Liaoning, in a huge vote-buying scandal. The move was part of an investigation into corruption in Liaoning and a much larger national anti-corruption campaign launched by President Xi Jinping.
Wang, who made his fortune in construction and running a strategic port near the North Korean border, also has been a big donor to New York University, Harvard University and the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.
Wangs $2 million donation to the Clinton Foundation in 2013 made waves when it was disclosed last year because of his ties to the Chinese government. More recently, his name surfaced amid news that McAuliffe (D) was the subject of an FBI investigation.
McAuliffe expressed confidence in May that Wang, who gave a combined $120,000 to his 2013 gubernatorial campaign and 2014 inauguration, was a legitimate donor. [McAuliffe in shock over FBI investigation of campaign money, personal finances]
A spokesman for Wang said his ouster was the result of a political purge carried out on behalf of Xi. They get rid of people who are not part of his team, spokesman Sig Rogich said.
He said Wang and the others ousted had only lobbied decision-makers with meals and token gifts. He wined and dined them and gave them a gift, Rogich said. Its not like they gave them cash. On Friday, McAuliffes attorney, James W. Cooper, said the governor knows nothing about Mr. Wang and his legal situation in China.
Spokesmen for the Clinton campaign and the Clinton Foundation did not respond to requests for comment.
Wangs construction conglomerate, Rilin Enterprises, controls the Port of Dandong and processes significant volumes of soybeans shipped out of Virginia. He was courted in 2011 by Gov. Robert F. McDonnell (R), who encouraged Wangs firm to buy 100,000 metric tons of soybeans from Maryland-based Perdue Agribusiness and ship them from Chesapeake, Va., to China.
Wangs company also helped build the new Chinese Embassy in Washington, assembling and overseeing a team of artisans who would be loyal to both the Chinese government and the principles of feng shui. Theres a lot of security involved, Rogich said. Theyre also artistically knowledgeable about what the Chinese want. Theres a lot of feng shui that goes into this, evidently depictions of the four seasons. . . . Certain colors are not allowed.
Wangs $2 million pledge to the Clinton Foundation drew attention last year, first from CBS News and then other outlets, because of his connections to the Chinese government both as a member of the National Peoples Congress and as a contractor entrusted to help build Chinas embassies around the world.
Wangs political donations to McAuliffe reflect sizable overlap in Clinton and McAuliffe donors. Critics say the pattern suggests contributions to McAuliffe, a close friend of Bill and Hillary Clintons, are intended to curry favor with a former president and an aspiring one. McAuliffe supporters say the overlap is the natural outgrowth of personal and political bonds the governor has forged over a long career as a Clinton fundraiser.

NOV 2013 REPORT--- The Hill reported Bill Clinton was panhandling in China for the "Clinton Foundation"
The Hill | November 18, 2013 | Mario Trujillo / Posted by Cincinatus' Wife
Ex-President Bill Clinton (exploiting the presidency) panhandles for foundation donations from the Chinese.
Hillary as the US president is the carrot-on-the-stick to get money
Clinton told a Chinese audience that a female president would be good for the United States.
Clinton was in China to meet with the countrys president and to promote the "Clinton Foundation."
They're doing it to inoculate themselves for the next time they have the Presidency. They're planning an unprecedented level of sell-out to our enemies and trading partners; they are going to essentially trade away American sovereignty, economic security and technological leadership to raise money for themselves and their party.
They're trying to implant in the mind of ordinary Americans the idea that Trump "sold us out" to the Russians, so when they actually do it the Republicans won't have the right to criticize them.
Thanks. Sounds like you know your stuff. :)
“The Game” has always been to accept foreign contributions and only return them if caught (by the Media). Most often the money gets returned AFTER the election/re-election which also happens to be well-after the money has served it’s purpose. Does anybody think the DNC isn’t almost happy to right a refund check after their guy/gal gets into office???
Exactly...
