The Baseball Hall of Fame has an excellent exhibit on the history of the Negro Leagues. One artifact I remember was an excerpt from a medical journal published at the end of WW2 arguing against integrating the Major Leagues on the grounds that Blacks are athletically INFERIOR to Whites. This is what "modern settled science" told us a relatively short 73 yrs ago. Never mind that Joe Louis, Jesse Owens, Wilma Rudolph, Satchell Paige already blew that myth to smithereens. Obviously Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays, Roy Campanella, Ernie Banks, etc never received that memo.

Feburary 2017 - Ford, 74, was told to land his single-engine plane on a runway at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, but he mistakenly landed it on a parallel taxiway, passing over an American Airlines jet holding nearby, NBC reported.

“Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?” Ford is heard asking air traffic controllers in a recording.

American Airlines Flight 1456, with 110 passengers and six crew, departed safely for Dallas a few minutes later.

In March 2015, Ford was seriously injured when his second world war-era trainer crashed on a Los Angeles golf course when it lost power shortly after takeoff. The actor was praised for his ingenuity in avoiding more populated areas.

In 1999, Ford crash-landed his helicopter during a training flight in which he and an instructor were practicing auto rotations in Ventura County, northwest of Los Angeles; neither of them was hurt.

An in another incident, Ford was flying a Beechcraft Bonanza in 2000 when wind shear forced him to make an emergency landing at Lincoln Municipal Airport in Nebraska. Ford and his passenger were uninjured when the plane clipped the runway

They won’t yank his license. There is NO age limit for pilot licenses( I got that from Chuck Yeager himself!)Who- by the way as the greatest pilot ever, IMO, no longer flies. Ford will have to do a John Denver, but with all the hills and mountains he’ll most likely splatter onto one of those.

I did have nice looking grandparents.I considered Ford ugly in 1977-and I have magazines from them(huge Star Wars fan) that have his birthdate as 1940,not 1942, so he’s shaved a couple of years off in the interim.Ugly then, uglier now.Mumbling, sneering stoned old man who can barely get a coherent sentence out. Still he’s gonna be a 78 year old ‘action hero’. Pitiful, really.
