Insurgent Democratic women running for Congress are pushing the party to rethink its approach to politics if they retake control of Capitol Hill in the fall.
At the annual meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus Friday, black female candidates who prevailed in primaries over established incumbents said it’s time for a conversation about how the party is structured. They expressed frustration that the party is tilted against rising politicians — especially those of color — and argued that if Democrats flip the House in November, it would be the result of organization and turnout amount black voters, particularly women. If that happens, the candidates said, gratitude won’t be enough. They want a seat at the leadership table and a role in re-examining how the party works.
“It is not enough to just talk about a blue wave and Democrats being in the majority,” said Ayanna Pressley, the Boston city councilwoman now poised to become Massachusetts’ first black congresswoman. “What matters is who are those Democrats? We have to have a conversation about the guts and the soul of this party.” […]
After black women “showed up and showed out” this primary season, they are taking their rightful place, said Rep. Terri Sewell, who in 2010 was elected Alabama’s first black congresswoman. The Selma Democrat was instrumental in Sen. Doug Jones’ special election last winter, when he became the first Democrat to represent Alabama in the Senate in 25 years. “We’ve been the backbone of the Democratic Party for a long time and we’re finally getting our due,” said Sewell. “There were a whole bunch of people he doesn’t even know that did a whole bunch of work to help him get there.” …

Black women are happy to churn out welfare babies to keep collecting those checks from Massa Sam.
Black men are thrilled to be working at record numbers and are starting to throw support to Trump and his economic growth policies. They are happy to thumb their noses at Massa and flee his plantation. The dragoons are coming for the runaways, er #WalkAways.
If, IF the Dems take over the House, don’t be too upset. Grab yourself a beer and watch the show. Its going to be a doozie.
And what will the “show” consist of?
Sounds like they’re picking out curtains and decorating the congressional house before they’re even elected.
They’re going to be sorely disappointed.
I also urge the Democrats to turn away from their racist, bigoted, and communist ways.
I somehow don’t think they will listen to me.
What future?
The DNC proper is the cluster you know what of hostility towards the Lord, supplication towards the false religion of Mohammad, the murder of innocents, of perversions, thefts, corruptions, and now even madness on the subject of genderism.
The list goes on and on with many things that may be of little spiritual consequence but are simply bad.
The Republicans just plain suck and are useless but they aren’t consistently dangerous the way the DNC is.
The Angry Black Woman Party wants to take all your stuff.
Not a winning platform at the national level. At least, that’s my opinion.

Didn’t you read the article? Committee assignments and leadership depends on seniority. But the new group isn’t going to want to play by those rules. Its going to be fun to watch. (You have to learn how to make lemonade out of lemons)

What? The party of the little guy, the people, the working class, immigrants, the poor, the party of the women and minorities is tilted against women and people of color? Stunned!
Oh absolutely. No way they are going to quietly go migrating to the back of the queue. They’re ready to be in charge!!
Ripping away the future of the country is not something to sit back watching and drinking beer over—if we can even get any beer when they’re done. They aren’t out to destroy each other, but us.
My father was a working man, and he was a Democrat. The working man would be hard pressed to find representation in the Democratic party today.
Absolutely, even after having a president that fits one of those descriptions for eight years. Amazing.

Well if the Dems win in November, what are my options? March in the streets? No, I will crack open an beer and watch them tear themselves apart. And continue to enjoy and live my life.
