The foreign-born population of the U.S. has soared to its highest level since 1910, with more newcomers being likely to come from Asia than ever before.
The foreign-born population in the U.S. reached 13.7 percent in 2017, an uptick from 13.5 percent in 2016, according to Census Bureau figures reviewed by The New York Times.
While newcomers have mostly hailed from Latin America for years, the latest numbers indicate a higher proportion than ever is coming from Asia. Forty-one percent of the people who have arrived since 2010 came from Asia, compared to 39 percent from Latin America, according to a Brookings Institution analysis.
The incoming population is also more college educated than ever, with 45 percent reporting a college degree a 15 percent rise from those with college degrees who came between 2000 and 2009, the Times reported.
This is quite different from what we had thought, William Frey, the Brookings Institution researcher who conducted the analysis, told the Times. We think of immigrants as being low-skilled workers from Latin America, but for recent arrivals, thats much less the case."
"People from Asia have overtaken people from Latin America," Frey added.
Since 2010, the number of people immigrating from Mexico has declined while those from China and India have swelled. Almost three million people have arrived in the U.S. from Asia since 2010 while 1.2 million have come from Latin America, according to the report.
The report did note that the foreign-born population from Latin America is still a majority of the total number across the nation with 50 percent of the total foreign-born population being from Latin America, while 31 percent of the total is from Asia.
Immigrants are also spreading out more across the country, with more than ever making homes in states with previously small immigrant populations such as Tennessee, South Carolina and Kentucky.
New York and California, typically considered immigration hubs, both saw their immigrant populations increase by 6 percent since 2010 while Tennessee saw an increase of 20 percent.
North Dakota had the largest increase in foreign-born immigrants with an 87 percent rise since 2010.
And they’ll all be running for office.
Democrats thrive on division. Shove as many people together that can’t can’t get along, with different often conflicting cultures, no common language, then call them racist for not integrating successfully.
Where’s Trump?
That same dynamic is going to blow the Democrat Party to smithereens. Blacks and Hispanics are going to end up in flat-out warfare over who gets the title of #1 Most Favored Minority. The Dems will reap what they have sown.
And the Indians and Chinese are all working at tech companies holding down American wages.
Asians not liking they are discriminated against with racial quotas for college slots and scholarships.
Pretty soon they could be voting white...
Awesome news. I have an even better idea. Let’s import thousands of sub 90IQ inbred Somali Muslims into America AND RECRUIT “the best and brightest” among them into Law Enforcement.
Calling someone Hispanic is like calling some one a European.
Quite a bit if difference between someone from Poland and someone from Spain.
Same thing with Hispanics, they are not one monolithic group who all think & vote the same.
No problem whatsoever - as long as they follow the law to get in, and after they arrive, follow the law.
The Uniparty realized we would not vote for the New World Order, so they are importing people who will.
Unlike in 1910 where World War I and laws that ended the Open Borders 19th century there is no end in sight for this upward trend.
Heh, that would be hilarious if it weren’t so painfully true. Ugh.
How many of them are partaking of the benefits those corrupt congress critters ans corrupt judges give to the “immigrants”
The headline is wrong, it’s 2010.
If the Democrats hadnt ruined the educational system, we wouldnt have needed such an influx of skilled foreign born workers.
in 1910 13.7% (of 92 million) was 12.6 million. In 2017 13.7% (of 326 million) is 44.7 million.
If companies hadn’t bought congresscritters and H1B legislation, higher wages would attract enough Americans.
But isn’t it getting crowded?
Our immigration system is killing our country. We are importing people who vote 70% democrat. How long before the democrat party has a monopoly on power at this rate? Not long
if our immigration system is not changed soon we will become the next Venezuela.
