Nancy Crampton-Brophy, an Oregon-based romance author, was arrested September 5 as a suspect in the murder of her husband Daniel Brophy, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The 68-year-old writer was being held at Multnomah County Jail on charges of murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

It’s easy to murder somebody but hard not to get caught, except on the south and west sides of Chicago where getting caught is pretty hard. Of course it’s also a lot easier to be murdered there than in most other places.

Wow, looking at her pic, one wonders why he didn’t murder her.
Seriouly, though, why not a divorce or just leaving town?
I don’t know the circumstances, though. Perhaps she was being abused.
Whether or not it’s true, she’ll probably claim that. He has no way of defending himself now.

Jack Lemmon’s character didn’t know how to enjoy what he had. His wife in the movie was the extremely enchanting Virna Lisi (Lemmon did a great job being “mesmerized” by her at the stag party). She didn’t know any English, and she could cook Italian and liked feeding her husband. His job did not require him to be in the city, so he should have taken off with her to the country so she wouldn’t get spoiled.
That’s actually a pretty funny and enjoyable movie.
Perhaps he was. In any case, for her that's the way to play it.
