You didn’t answer my question. Which suggests to me that you have never experienced the effects of high winds. Irma sent winds to 85 mph in my area of Florida last year and I can assure you that is as much as I ever want to experience. Also, most don’t take into account hurricanes have the nasty habit of throwing tornadoes around indescrimenantly and without warning.

I live in East Tennessee where gusts to 60 or 70 are the greatest experienced. The result is mostly doen trees and power lines and the large canopies at gas stations that are not designed for those windloads.

I was before retirement a liscensed contractor in Palm Beach County and was involved in design and construction to the strenuous codes there.

I’ve been through 120 mph winds. Could hear the roof shingles being blown off. I wouldn’t do it again if I can help it. It’s always best to be safe than sorry even if the storm happens to shift away.

I was honeymooning on St. Thomas in 1989 when Hugo came through. 140+ sustained winds for over 8 hours. I don’t ever want to experience another hurricane.
