HOUSTON Days after a top adviser to President Trump questioned Senator Ted Cruzs chances of winning re-election, the Texas lawmaker casually stepped into the pinnacle of his hometowns energy industry on Tuesday the lobby of the Petroleum Club of Houston, on the 35th floor of a downtown skyscraper.
Mr. Cruz shook hands while holding a cup of McDonalds coffee. By the end of his remarks to the American Petroleum Institute, the audience rose for two standing ovations. It was not a campaign event, but it might as well have been: Mr. Cruz was relaxed and confident, eager to both attack his Democratic opponent and to poke fun at himself and his critics.
When theres extreme anger and hatred on the other side, dont respond in kind, Mr. Cruz told the audience beneath the glittering chandeliers. Have fun. Be a joyful warrior. He recalled encountering a Twitter handle, Ted Cruz ate my son. I was really tempted to tweet, He was delicious, he said.

He will win by 7
Maybe it’s because he didn’t endorse Trump at the convention then attacked him after the Access Hollywood tape came out? I hope he wins.
I’m going with 5.
If you believe that you believe Hillary had a chance in TX.
When theres extreme anger and hatred on the other side, dont respond in kind,
I’m starting to think that Cruz will lose.
I find this VERY hard to believe.
Considering the source is the “slimes”, I’m thinking Ted will win handily.
Laughable, heard all this before with Wendy Davis, abortion Barbie, that was supposed to be the governor. She lost by 21 points. Robert O’Rourke is a crossdresser, who thinks kneeling is patriotic, asked the VFW to take Flags down, and has a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood, he has no chance.
Don’t they say stuff like that during every election in Texas????
If I were a TX voter (which I am not) I would not leave that to chance.
WaPo has an article out that the republicans are worried about losing their majority in the Senate. LOL.
Some Republicans = Jeff Flake
I’m from PA, but if I were from Texas, I’d be voting Cruz.
The latest polls show a statisical tie and they are no trending in Cruz’s favor. In a few weeks “Beto” will probably be ahead.
I would also. I still like Ted Cruz in spite of his errors in the 2016 campaign.
President Trump has endorsed Ted Cruz, who has become one of Trump's strongest enforcers in the Senate. Any Trump supporter who still believes that Cruz needs to be "punished" for his previous insolence is a moron.
President Trump said he’s planning a major rally for Ted in October. Clearly, he’s worried about Ted’s high unlikability factor as the rest of us are.
Cruz by 15 points.
Ted should have been primaried, however laziness and inertia left us stuck with him, so its going to take effort that shouldn’t have been needed to keep the seat.
We need to also be looking for an undamaged 2024 candidate right now.
