If you send your kids off to high school thinking they will learn how to diagram sentences and write competently, you may want to check their English requirements. John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has other ideas about learning English that include gender-neutral pronouns, discussions of sexuality, and anti-white propaganda.
A student posted an assignment to social media, handed out by teacher Emily Thomson of Kennedy High's English department, that detailed "power and privilege" in America which, according to the assignment, names "U.S. born," "white people," "Christians," "middle, owning class," "heterosexuals," "men," and "veterans" as the oppressors of non-white humankind. How this is not a violation of the school's policy against discrimination based on race, creed, and sexuality is baffling.

One of my friends nailed a few of the favored: “U.S. born,” “Christians,” “middle, owning class,” “heterosexuals,” “men,” and “veterans”. He is a Black guy.
“He”, “she” or “it” ... those are the pronouns I use ... and it’s my choice. (With this one, I’ll go out on a sturdy limb and say “she”.)
What, so you can try to oppress ‘them’? (Her may not be applicable or at the very least a trigger against genderism?) :-)
Ms. Thomson is a spiky haired track coach.....nuff said
Privilege? Oppression?
What do these words even MEAN in America?
And what is this “gender-neutral” pronoun movement? “It” or “its” are perfectly useful terms if the gender is unknown or undefined. Everything else that has an identifiable gender is either masculine or feminine.
You are forced to pay money to fund public schools which then force your kids to learn that you are racist, evil and homophobe.
Thanks, very much

That ug is sure eh. - I’m making up my own pronouns and descriptive for the self-righteous, nemesis, invasively domineering, nut jobs who want to equally oppress all races and gender of people rather then offer freedom, liberty and justice to all so everyone can be lifted up and come together in shared community, shared responsibility and the sharing of the bountiful. It is the responsibility to create bountiful that they call privilege. To them it doesn’t matter if you broke your back to create the bountiful, they say you didn’t create it and you don’t deserve to have it......blahblahblah (All the ugs in the room say blahblahblah because their so eh, eh, eh.)
Think about it, all boats rise with a good high tide, you don’t damage and sink some boats to try and make a specific few boats rise even higher then the tide will take them. It just puts sunken obstacles in the way.
She has that hyper, self-satisfied, crazed look of the guilt-ridden, self-loathing, self-destructive, white leftist.
From the depth of my 78 years of experience, please find a way to home school or private school or charter school your kids.
No, the ug is not a she, the ug is an ug and is very very eh and most likely loves to blahblahblah which speak crazy talk. lol
Two can play the game and “ug” is my pronoun of choice for babbling nonsensical idiots and “eh” means they are uncomprehending and crazy in their interpretation of anything and blahblahblah means they speak crazy talk.
Very good! I like what you have designed and will use it first chance I get!
OUTRAGEOUS!
“What they are not learning is English, History, the Constitution or Philosophy.”
Yep! Reading, Writing, and ‘Rithmetic are obsolete ideas these days. It used to be that students would learn to read and write using history as a topic (I get ENRAGED thinking about all of the terrible, liberally skewed books I had to critique throughout high school ... what a complete waste of time). Math was math ... not new math, or common core math, but math geared towards application.
A big part of our education system’s problem (outside of the leftist influences of course) is that they’re geared towards those that will want to attend college. That’s a waste frankly and doesn’t serve the needs of a majority of the kids in a high school class.
The end result is that a majority of those kids have wasted their youth and prime learning years. They are forced to play “catch up education” throughout their late teens and early 20s (this basically means that a TON of money and time, time you’ll never get back, was squandered in public school).
Sure the high schools will tout those that went off to college upon graduation and brag about the successful ones ... of course, they fail to check up on them and see if they even make it thru college ... usually the pampering they receive in high school leads to a rude awakening in college.
Ugh, I could ramble about our pathetic approach to education for hours on end ... it is frigging disgusting that we spend a ridiculous amount of money on schools and continue to FAIL our kids using an obsolete and ridiculous method to educate the masses. Liberalism is a mere byproduct of the horrible system imposed on kids.
I’ll bet she’s a miserable front hole ...
ARTH reason number 3 trillion, 125 billion 375 million 789 thousand and 999. JFKennedy must be rolling over in his grave that his namesake school is doing this crap...
fhole?
That is actually a very good definition of "gender", as that term is used today. Problems arise when SJWs of various stripes conflate (whether deliberately, or out of ignorance) "sex" with "gender". Gender can indeed be "fluid", since it's just a made-up construct. Sex is binary and fixed, because it's rooted in biology.
If we insist on using the right terms, we wouldn't have (e.g.) insane public bathroom policies. There are many very good reasons for segregating the sexes, in many places -- OTOH, it's pointless to try to segregate the "genders".
The loony left knows the power of controlling the language. Don't let them away with it. Insist on using the right terms: "sex" for biology; "gender" for all the made-up stuff.
