A Dallas police officer who fatally shot her neighbor in his apartment, claiming she mistook the unit for her own, told the authorities that the door was already ajar when she entered and that she shot him after he ignored verbal commands, according to court records released on Monday.
The officer, Amber R. Guyger, 30, who has been charged with manslaughter, could face additional charges in a case that has led to accusations that the officer received preferential treatment and debate about whether race may have played a role in the deadly encounter between a white police officer and a black man in his home.
On Monday, the Dallas County district attorney, Faith Johnson, insisted that the investigation into the death of the neighbor, Botham Shem Jean, 26, had not ended and that her office could seek charges including anything from murder to manslaughter.
Well present a thorough case to the grand jury so that a right decision can be made, Ms. Johnson said at a news conference.

From the constant reporting in Dallas, it was dark. I guess she saw him. They are trying so hard to make it a race issue. If it was dark in there, how did she even know it was a black man? It sounds like a tragic accident to me. She had only lived there a very short time. The parking garages and doors all look alike. She had just gotten off a 15 hour shift. She was off duty.
One article I read said the lights were off.
Investigators should find out if anybody else who lives there has tried to go into the wrong apartment.
Time for her to be administered a follicle test.
Who wants to listen to a stupid ‘front hole’ who can’t find her own apartment?
Good idea. Now we’ve got the protestors out screaming about white cop killing the black victim. She was off duty. It was a horrible accident as far as I can tell by what they are reporting. There is however, no one to dispute what she says happens. Who knows.
They are trying so hard to make it a race issue.

We can thank Obama, the corrupt media, and the crooked Democrats for that.
It has now been 4 days and still no Blood Draw Results. I’ll wait one more day before I call B.S. AND COVER-UP BY FALSIFYING THE TEST RESULTS!!!

mabarker1 to deport
15-12=3
12/2=6
3 hours would be 1/4th or .25 of a Shift
The original report was a 12 hour shift.
I still have not heard Anything about the Blood Draw results on her.
If she is cleared of Drug/Alcohol use via the Blood Draw done I for one will not trust the Chain of Custody on the sample/results. Its been 3 days since the Blood Draw and not a word on the results. They can have results in a few minutes, its done all the time in ER for unconscious people that may have ODd on drugs or alcohol. So this alone tells Me she was either on something, drinking OR we have the start of a Coverup...
Ill bet that a Chain of Custody on a Water System BacT Test sample has a better CoC than her blood test did.
And I will not believe that she was overtired from a 12 hour shift she just came off of. Ive worked many 12 hour shifts for years including Doubles- alone at Water Treatment Plants treating 30+ Million Gallons a Day
“Get out of my house!”
“Your house?”
blam blam blam
BANG, BANG...
STOP OR I’LL SHOOT YOU...
Agreed. I don't care what the cop is saying, I'd be yelling "Get the f* out of my place!". And we all know cops have guns, so we're not going to mess with them. She shot him twice in cold blood. Murder. Should never have been a cop to begin with.
So no mention of witnesses who heard banging and yelling? And she didnt notice the red mat outside the door??
The 1990 Gardner Museum heist comes to mind. If you know who did it, they've got $10m for you.
The Saint Valentine's Day Massacre is another example of criminals dressing as cops.
Just the fact that she seems to believe that whether a man obeys commands from a total stranger who just broke into his home is relevant in any way is indicative of the culture of total impunity that results in “comply or die”.
She’s a straight up murderer and given that she’s in Texas the death penalty ought to be under consideration.
I normally work half days (12 hrs) and up to 14 six days a week.
Work in the oil field and it may be 24-48 hours on location. I have driven OTR 24 hours. I found my home just fine without killing anyone.
he dint respect her authoratyyy, in his own house, unbelievable...
> NO trained professional does what she did unless she was IMPAIRED or had some other relationship with the victim.
... or believes that the risks inherent in shooting someone, like murder charges, wouldn’t apply to her because of her employment status.
Remember the cop that jumped on the hood of an innocent person’s vehicle, emptied his gun through the windshield and murdered the driver, and then actually got away with claiming he feared for his life?
Too many cops believe “I *AM* the law!” and too many real-life incidents confirm that in many cases, in actual practice, they are.
