Joe Bistardi of Weatherbell has been dead on regarding his prediction for the season, and for Florence. (Scroll down that page for the videos).

Over a week ago, he predicted it's formation and projected path - which is pretty much where the models tend to center right now. It's still early and things will change, but right now it looks like just a hair south of Wilmington NC is approximate (maybe a bit north, maybe a bit south).

To those who say it will veer north or out to sea, the models say otherwise. They are all pretty much in agreement this time.

Category 2 inland near Fayetteville (or anywhere) is a scary thought.

Which means Wrightsville Beach which is just minutes from Wilmington could be devastated by Florence.

I see Joe is referencing the Windy.com map (bottom pic). I've been watching Windy.com since last season and it does tend to be pretty accurate. While the focus is on Florence, it's interesting to watch the path of Helene. It's forecast shows a boomeranging back toward the Azores but by Monday of next week, she's still intact and heading south back toward a northeasterly flow... and possibly take another run?

Dang, Joe's lost a lotta hair and weight going by that pic .. hope he's not poorly :-\
I rememeber watching him for years on WeatherWorld here in central PA.
He was a wrestler at PSU in the 70s, and a fellow alum.
