Obama to unveil 'pointed' midterm message
CNN ^ | Sept. 6, 2018 | Dan Merica

President Barack Obama, to the chagrin of some Democrats, has spent much of 2018 on the sidelines to what top party operatives believe is a generational fight against President Donald Trump.

That ends Friday, Obama advisers tell CNN, when the former president unveils his midterm message in a speech that will be a more pointed rebuke of Trump's first years in office.

The speech at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign comes ahead of Obama's first campaign events of the midterms: A rally for a handful of Democratic congressional candidates in California on Saturday and an event for Richard Cordray, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Ohio, on September 13.

It's difficult to tell. Polls ( if one is to believe them ) claim that almost 30% of blacks now like and support Trump. It may be higher than that, it may be that number.

I am hooked on watching the #Walkaway videos and there's all kinds of people doing them...homosexuals, lesbians, blacks ( lots of blacks ), Asians, Hispanics, old people who were life long Dem voters, a woman whose parents were card carrying CPUSA members who was also a Commie and protester in the '60's & '70s, lots from California, lots of Millennials from NYC, and so on. There are many thousands of them who have joined but have yet to make a video as well.

The rule used to be that once you stepped down from being president you withdrew from politics, in order to give your successor a chance to do the job.
That is the clear implication of the example set by George Washington himself.
Modern Democrats, tho, are sure they are better than that.

Whatever Obama says, Trump should just say that “Former president Obama was right about one thing; I don’t have a magic wand.
But after 8 years of Obamanomics, getting back to American principles of limited, constitutional, governance just naturally looks like magic.”

“Mr. Obama famously said, ‘you didn’t build that.”' Well, as a businessman I can tell you that Mr. Obama certainly didn’t 'build that,’ either. As a businessman I know something about my own business, but I also am clear that that does not mean that I know everything about what makes every business work. All it takes to beat Obamanomics all holler is for the government to be careful about how much harm it inflicts on business.

The fake news reporters have gone silent about the economy, but the public has seen increased take-home pay since the Republican Congress brought good legislation for me to sign, which I did happily. But if Mr. Obama gets his way, you will overlook that and elect Representatives and Senators who will interrupt that progress and set the country - and you - back. If that happens, businessmen will do what is logical - they will reduce their investment plans and take a wait-and-see approach."

I enjoy watching the Walk away videos, too. I hope they vote Republican or at least Third Party.

Thanks for the corroboration! :-)

Those #Walkaway videos are heartwarming! Some contain whole families, or two or more friends talking about how they'll never vote for a Dem ever again; so it's more than just a single person who has walked away, per video.

And many, as I said, have joined the movement but haven't made a video yet.

Most of them say that they now LOVE Trump and will vote GOP.

Some just say that they LOVE Trump and shan't ever vote Dem ever again, without saying that they'll vote for GOPers.

So there's that; no more Dem voters. :-)

Meanwhile, back in thevreal world that actually matters, people have jobs again, stores are reopening, new businesses are forming, investments are actually making a good return, the nation is respected if not feared or envied around the world, we are not burdened with some crazy new rule every day, illegals are being deported, we have lower taxes and get to keep more of what we make, etc., Etc., And etc.

What is wrong with this picture?

EXACTLY !

Did you see the video with a nice black man from Chicago, who is against the mayor, fed up with nothing being done re the murders and shootings on the South & West sides, who is now more than open to working WITH Trump to get things done there? And there were many in his group, who are in agreement. They say that Obama NEVER did ANYTHING at all to help them and they're fed up!

“...has spent much of 2018 on the sidelines”

“on the sidelines” = smoking pot and playing video games.
