My opinion is NOBODY should be censored.
Let them all speak.
I don’t think it is a duty of the hoster (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to decide what is proper speech. Don’t they have immunity from prosecution/lawsuits on what others say anyways?
The reason I say no one should be censored is there are NEVER going to be standards as to what is appropriate or hateful.
One could say all speech is hateful. Hate is a lousy standard, as it is truly in the eye of the beholder.
Just one example. History tells us the Turks massacred the Armenians in 1915. Turkey, however, denies this and actually tries to prosecute anyone who says it happened.
So whose standard should be used, Turkey’s or the rest of the world?
Did the Romans really wipe out Carthage? Will some Italians claim this is hate speech and demand such facts be publically banned?
It’s just crazy.
I will add I never trusted Glen Beck like some people here did. I think the same way of Alex Jones.
He has a right to speak, and have his say on Twitter, Facebook, etc., and I have the right not to read his stuff.
It’s too damn bad some people can’t just skip the stuff they don’t like instead of demanding it be erased.
Look at the Never Trumpers. They had some credibility a few years ago but now have gone full nutty. The liberals love them.
I agree. Jones freely-flowing emotions make him his own worst enemy. He should dedicate some serious time to regulating/moderating himself. But hed probably tell me Im trying to control him by even suggesting it.
I believe he is over the top on purpose to cater to his audience. It’s not my cup of tea.
Look at all the free publicity he’s getting by playing victim now. His audience loves it.
