Levi Strauss Company jumps on gun-control bandwagon
Fortune Magazine ^ | 09/04/2018 | Chip Bergh

I’m proud to announce that Levi Strauss & Co. is partnering with Everytown for Gun Safety and executives including Michael Bloomberg to form Everytown Business Leaders for Gun Safety, a coalition of business leaders who believe, as we do, that business has a critical role to play in and a moral obligation to do something about the gun violence epidemic in this country

Not really news, as such. Levi Strauss has been anti-gun for decades.

Meh. I stopped buying Levis long ago. About the time they switched from thick, durable denim, to fabric about as robust as chiffon.

This is not new. Levi Strauss has been on the gun control bandwagon for 25 years at a minimum. I first learned that LS funded a dedicated anti-gun website in the mid ‘90s.

I’ve been buying Wranglers ever since. They are half the price and wear four times as long which make them a lot more economical. The right inseam doesn’t twist 180 degrees around my calf like Levis jeans do either.

There is a company that buys all old jeans that it can and ships them to Japan, where they sell for $100+ a pair.

Heh. Not too many Japanese with a butt my size. Sumo Wrestlers, maybe.

These were so worn out - the pockets were so thin and frayed as to be unrepairable - that no one would want them anyway.

That's why I dumped them, whatever went in the pockets would immediately wind up on top of my foot. Annoying. The jeans were just getting comfortable. :-)

I’ve not bought faggot pants for a long long time. Once they came out as pro-faggot they were off my shopping list.

“These were so worn out - the pockets were so thin and frayed as to be unrepairable - that no one would want them anyway.”

That is exactly what they want, and they pay extra for.

As another generation of teen-agers the world over embraces American culture, secondhand jeans have become status symbols. A cottage industry, a thriving underground economy, has sprouted west of the Mississippi to buy, wash and repair used Levis for resale in countries from Finland to Australia.
No one knows for sure how many pairs are being shipped abrhttps://www.nytimes.com/1994/08/22/business/used-american-jeans-power-a-thriving-industry-abroad.htmload.";

I Know it comes from San Francisco. So there’s that.

I’m sure there’s faggots in many company’s we buy from daily. As long as they’re not handling my food or Proselytizing kids, or trying to undermine my rights I don’t care.

Their stuff has sucked for 30 years at least. They would do well to shut up and get back to the basics.

They have been anti-2A supporters for decades; Handgun Contol Inc. The Brady Bunch. Makes me sick when I see gun magazine writers showing how their Dockers(a Levi-Strauss product)work well with IWB holsters.

NOW Levi Strauss is acting like a bunch of Dick’s! That is, like Dick’s Sporting Goods, if you recall.
