John McCain was laid to rest Sunday on a green hill at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, Md. alongside the classmate who was his wing man and lifelong friend.
The Vietnam War hero, maverick senator and two-time presidential candidate was bid farewell in a private ceremony beside the Severn River by his closest family members and friends, along with military dignitaries and members of his academy Class of 1958.
The Arizona senators final resting place is the cemetery near the fields and classrooms where he and his friend, Admiral Chuck Larson, met as young men six decades ago.
The senator died Aug. 25 from brain cancer at age 81.
A non-conformist to the end, McCain chose to be buried at the academy instead of Arlington National Cemetery with his father and grandfather, both Naval admirals.
I want to smell the rose-scented breeze and feel the sun on my shoulders, McCain wrote in his May memoir.
I want to watch the hawks hunt from the sycamore, and then take my leave bound for a place near my old friend Chuck Larson, in the cemetery on the Severn, back where it began.

Is he still trying to “reach across the aisle”?

McCain should have been Swiftboated in 2008. No need. He never had a chance.

That might have been why he chose the Naval Academy. The public has access to Arlington. I don’t know if that is so for the Naval Academy.

One of the greatest democrats of our times and tricksters. He convenienced an entire party that he was a republican. Instead he planned to kiss the canvas from the moment he started.

Not that I disagree with that guy, but he would have a lot more credibility if he put on a shirt (and cut his hair).

John McCain, as far as I can tell, was a man that through family ties was able to go through life making misjudgment after misjudgment, mistake after mistake, crime after crime, yet through his naiveté and alignment with America’s domestic enemies, be regarded and praised as an American Hero and icon A perfect summation of his wretched life.

I did not realize that this friend was that Larsen. Selecting Larsen as the running running mate for Kathleen Kennedy Townsend was part of the reason that she lost in very liberal Maryland. He looked like the stereotypical country club Republican. It was bizarre that she thought her being a Kennedy was enough to get her elected. She had been Lt. Governor but accomplished nothing.

The Mccain Circus is finally over. Maybe sanity will return.
Sanity has been on hiatus in Fake Steam Media ever since President Trump won in 2016.
McCain's death gave the Fake Stream Media an easy week to bash President Trump Just talk about bi-partisanship or whatever in attempt to make President Trump look bad. Never mind that most of the American public thinks it is BS.
Now the Fakers will have to go back to work and come up with some sort phony scandal to bash President Trump. Poor Fakers.

The part I liked the best was when all of the horses drawing the caisson each crapped as the casket was removed for burial.

This was a private ceremony for family and loved ones, but, luckily, the National Enquirer photographer was able to capture this snapshot of the service, to preserve it for posterity:

I survived without watching one second of it.

Me too, NOT ONE SECOND !!!!! I read ALL I needed to know here on FR!!!

This is what Im trying to figure out...
\ Now that all the passed vets know about him, if we living vets go there and all piss on his grave for being a traitor, are we desecrating the place of other vets or are the other vets cheering us on for doing it on their behalf?

I didn’t watch one second of it either. I saw more than I wanted on the web. However, I did read some really good posts. :-)
