[If this system that is heading to the Gulf of Mexico becomes a Tropical Storm/Hurricane, the system will be called TS Gordon or Hurricane Gordon.] ...
1. Thunderstorm activity associated with a tropical wave located between north-central Cuba and the central Bahamas is gradually becoming better organized, and upper-level winds are also becoming more favorable. A tropical depression is likely to form during the next day or so while the system moves west-northwestward across the northwestern Bahamas, southern Florida, and the Florida Keys. The system is forecast to emerge over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico by early Tuesday and move toward the north-central Gulf Coast Tuesday night and Wednesday. This system will produce locally heavy rains and gusty winds across the central and northwestern Bahamas, southern Florida, and the Florida Keys during the next day or two. A tropical storm watch could be issued for portions of the northern Gulf Coast tonight. Interests in these areas should monitor the progress of this system. For more information, see products from your local weather forecast office and High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather Service. An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system tomorrow.

* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.

I wonder what it will do in SW Florida.
It’s probably just my imagination, but the nice people on the weather channel seem almost disappointed that hurricanes aren’t tearing up the Gulf Coast this year.
I could use some rain....
Bring rain to Texas, Gordon! (but not too much)
Florence is coming on quickly.

But, but, but ... Al Gore claims “Global warming will make hurricanes nastier and more frequent!” (July’s Current global average temperatures were 0.31 above the mid-70’s low spot, only 0.21 in June above June’s average.
Our local weatherman says lots of wind shear plus water temp in Atlantic are several degrees cooler this year. Plus the sahara desert dust in the gulf of Mexico. All these factors are keeping the waves from developing into anything major.
Where we are at we could use a good 2 week soaking if we are going to have any grass come fall.
democrats are rubbing their hands together hoping for a hurricane that kills people so they can blame it on Trump’s weather machine..
We are supposed to go on a Western Caribbean cruise out of Miami next Sunday. Hoping to fly into Miami on Saturday.
A few days ago our local Gannett newsrag had a feature article entitled “Where are the hurricanes?”.

Only weather guy I listen to this time of year. September sucks if you live in Florida. I don’t remember which Freeper posted the initial link I clicked on, but I learned about it here.
No. Not imagined.
There is a weather system around Lake Charles that looks a lot like a tropical storm, but too weak to qualify, and probably won’t strengthen since already half onshore.
Why doesnt California, Oregon or Washington get these. East coast gets screwed everytime. So not fair.
Hopefully, you purchased travel insurance for trip interruption. There is a big reason for low prices on cruises this time of year. High risk of diversions or cancellations during hurricane season.
