John McCain is being laid to rest at the U.S. Naval Academy after a five-day procession that served as a final call to arms for a nation he warned could lose its civility and sense of shared purpose.
The private ceremony in Annapolis, Maryland, was as carefully planned as the rest of McCain's farewell tour, which began in Arizona after he died Aug. 25 from brain cancer and stretched to Washington.

Thankfully.
Finally!!! The longest running funeral in history
John can be a failure and on the wrong side of things even after death.
—he would have been more appropriately buried with a silver bullet in his head and at a crossroads with a stake in his heart—
The hate Trump festival otherwise known as the McCain funeral enters its 5th day. Burial today but the hate Trump narrative will continue unabated.
RIP,
turd.
A nauseating spectacle given to a cheap politician at our expense.
Where’s the “Well, bye” guy when we need him? Har!
Wouldn’t it be great if Congress now passed that piece of legislation, literally over McQueeg’s dead body? There were sure some things he didn’t want disclosed if those records got opened up. How the families of those men must despise him.
With Dean and Sammy standing by, one holding the hammer, the other the salt.
I was 11 when RFK was assassinated. We only got 2 tv stations, CBS & NBC. The coverage was non-stop for at least 3 days as his body was transported by train across the country. Saturday morning cartoons, a 6 hour block on both networks, was replaced with live train coverage. I had forgotten that unwelcome feeling of that Saturday morning, until yesterday...
I’m curious to know how he got permission for in ground burial as the eligibility requirements from The Naval Academy Cemetery web site and public statements from the Senior Curator and Historian of the Naval Academy Museum, Mr. Jim Cheevers indicate only Flag Officers and Midshipman while enrolled rate in ground burial.
The funeral at Annapolis is private, although the media will slobber all over pictures of the motorcade, etc. If the AZ Governor swiftly appoints McCain’s replacement to the Senate next week and it’s a solid Conservative who will without fail vote for Kavanaugh at a minimum, I think McCain will swiftly fade into obscurity. We do have to weather the film that he’s left as his final poke in Trump’s eye, but Trump is still alive and he’s President .... McCain is neither. Trump wins ... again.
Meghan McCain - conduct unbecoming and classless. McNasty would have approved, but the rest of us who voted for Trump do not - in my opinion, it was abhorrent. We won’t forget.
Bump,,,,,
Look at it this way.
Hell be at the bottom of every graduating class from here to eternity.
The goats goat.
I’m a USNA grad, and I’d rather have McCain at a relatively obscure cemetery than at Arlington where my parents, uncle & aunt, and cousin are interred, and someday, God willing, so will I be, too.
The Hero of Chappaquiddick buried at Arlington *is* a travesty and disrespectful of all honorable persons resting there.
