Hmong are Laotians.
#32. Glad someone knows about the Hmong. Led by Vang Pao and his brave forces in Laos against both the Communist Pathet Lao (puppets of Hanoi) and the No. Vietnamese themselves.
Another collective name for the Hmong, plus a couple smaller groups, was “Meos”. They suffered horribly under communist assaults and invasions.
There are several subgroups among the Hmong, just as there are several different tribes among the “Montagnards” of Central Highland, So. Vietnam. (Want to see my wrist bracelet they gave me?)
They were the unsung and underestimated hero “allies” of the US, the Royal Laotian Government, and South Vietnam during the wars. (In Cambodia, there were smaller Khmer subsets of peoples, from the Khmer Serei to the Moslem Chams who also in So. Vietnam, as well as the Chinese Nungs).
