For the clusters of onlookers, besuited power players and three former presidents who had all traveled to Washington National Cathedral, the muggy day was a historic opportunity to memorialize the life of Senator John McCain, who was remembered as a deeply patriotic war hero, a former Republican presidential candidate and a scrappy, humanly flawed, ultimately idealistic lawmaker.
For President Trump, it was Saturday.
In the many discussions about how to mark his life that Mr. McCain had with his staff and family before he died, he had made clear he did not want Mr. Trump to participate in anything they planned. So as Mr. McCain was eulogized in the presence of much of the American political establishment, Mr. Trump, pointedly uninvited, engaged in what by now is a familiar weekend routine. He sent a series of angry tweets aimed at some political adversaries, then left the White House to play a round of golf at his resort in Virginia.

Cheese and crackers! Did they make him a sarcophagus and private chapel at Annapolis, like they did for John Paul Jones?
So? I bet a lot of people played golf that day.
Is everyone in the world supposed to give a poop about the traitor McCain?
I deliberately got on I17 in Labor Day traffic. A completely McCain free day.
So???
Important distinction.

I was disgusted to see a VFW building with the POW/MIA flag at half staff in southern Mississippi. A local liberal church had its flags nearly dragging on the wet ground. A car dealership and a conservative church didn’t *quite* raise their flags all the way to the top. Those were lowered less than the length of the hoist.
I cannot believe anyone honoring this malevolent criminal. For days. Such disgusting hypocrisy, or corruption.
The news should be what Trump’s golf score was LOL
We went shooting.
He’s doing what the rest of us are.
Enjoying the weekend instead of engaging in necrophilia.
Trump, who was not wanted at the service, chose to play golf rather than hold a small candlelight vigil to honor McCain at the White House and mourn that he he couldn’t be there? Good for him!
More evidence he is not part of the DC insiders.
This bitch diddle anyone to get the story?
This whole side show was political — a gathering of political LOSERS. If Trump had been the best of buddies with McCain, this thread would not be here.
What a sorry situation.
Well put!
“It may be hard for demRATs to replace McCain.”
#############
No it won’t be hard at all. The deeply spiritual Bishop Willard Romney is being teed up right now to replace the deeply patriotic war hero McCain as resident Senate quisling.
I hope President Trump saw McCains face every time he hit the ball...
That was sure a roundabout way to say McStain was a dick.
The week President Trump Releases The Kraken i.e. DeClassification of all the FISA-702, Deep State Collusion mess for the whole world to see.
Now Tuesday, John McCain's replacement to fill out the remainder of his term will be announced and perhaps sworn in ASAP.
You know I have posted before PDJT would wait until McCain's Death to release all this, I may be spot on here since it my hunch the departed Senator is envolved and was a participant up to his eyeballs when this whole fiasco began.
His services will be done, he will be buried, and a replacement named or sworn in, and when this stuff comes out in retrospect PDJT would have respected his wishes and his final memorials.
What we find out post DeClassification, well, that is a different story, that might shed a different light on things....
America watched College Football.
