Washington Mourned John McCain. President Trump Played Golf.
NY Times ^ | Sept. 1, 2018 | Katie Rogers

For the clusters of onlookers, besuited power players and three former presidents who had all traveled to Washington National Cathedral, the muggy day was a historic opportunity to memorialize the life of Senator John McCain, who was remembered as a deeply patriotic war hero, a former Republican presidential candidate and a scrappy, humanly flawed, ultimately idealistic lawmaker.

For President Trump, it was Saturday.

In the many discussions about how to mark his life that Mr. McCain had with his staff and family before he died, he had made clear he did not want Mr. Trump to participate in anything they planned. So as Mr. McCain was eulogized in the presence of much of the American political establishment, Mr. Trump, pointedly uninvited, engaged in what by now is a familiar weekend routine. He sent a series of angry tweets aimed at some political adversaries, then left the White House to play a round of golf at his resort in Virginia.

So Trump played golf while the elites attacked him.

He wasn’t invited and he knew the hatred of the Swamp for him would make itself manifest.

He could care less about their opinion. He lives his life.

I’ll bet McCain would rather be on the golf course.

“In the same time, Senator John McCain of Arizona has retreated farther and farther to the fringe of American politics, running a campaign on partisan division, class warfare and even hints of racism. His policies and worldview are mired in the past. “

And THAT is what the NYT thought about him 10 years ago.

I wonder how the Deep State will handle Jimmah, now that they went so overboard for McJuan.

I expect that they will write about what Sarah Palin did that day as well, after all she was not invited either.

The leftist media really is the enemy of a free people. They no longer report the news, they distort it and place their narrative onto everything they report.

Trump is off to a slow start in trying to out do Hussain and his record of golf games.

The thing that would truly gall that unrepentant miserable old Scrooge would be the fact that the only reason he got the gold-plated sendoff of his fevered delusional dreams was Trump. The media wanted to try to make Trump look bad because of their longstanding feud. So, even in death, John McCain is riding Dona’d Trump’s coattails like the back-bencher he’s always been.

“”anything they planned... “”

From all that’s been reported so far, McCain himself is the one who did all the planning. That’s how deep the man was - HA! Look at me - even in death! I don’t care what stress my plans will put on my family - my will be done!

I say anyone who loves his family will not put them through anything like we’ve seen this week. I have to admit that the Ronald Reagan plans took up more days of mourning but they were tasteful and not draining on the family. When his body was taken from Los Angeles and then to the library in Simi Valley, the family didn’t have to be present 100% of the time - likewise in DC and back to CA.. He actually was the governor of CA but plans didn’t involve taking him to Sacramento to have him lie in state there. McCain wasn’t even a governor and look at THOSE plans at the AZ capitol...Sure hope they don’t come up with anything else before they get that guy in the ground tomorrow or they’ll back track and start this trek all over again.

Ronald Reagan’s actual burial service at sunset as a FReeper recently remarked was awesome. Who can ever forget that?

Visited there one time before we moved from CA and always wanted to go back after Air Force One was put in the museum but we didn’t make it again. Glad we took the time to go there and also to the Nixon Library.

The Air Force One exhibit is awesome. And if you’re there around sunset, stand by that piece of the Berlin Wall near the gravesite. It’s the best place to watch the sun go down as it glints copper near the Pacific.

McCain's funeral, as planned out by McCain himself, was a spittle-drenched, unhinged hatefest. It was an absolute f**king disgrace to decorum.

President Trump was supposed to just sit there and take it?

I hope the President had a wonderful time swinging golf clubs. I hope he never speaks McCain's name again.
