John McCain's Bitter Exit
Eagle Action Report ^ | 9/1/2018 | Felicia Tweedy

Posted on 09/01/2018 7:54:02 AM PDT by Abakumov

McCain’s memorial remembrances were filled with themes of unity, inclusion, and compromise. They stressed how McCain was someone who could reach across the aisle, find consensus, and put differences aside to bring people together for the greater good.

It’s too bad McCain’s final actions contradicted that message...

Senator McCain had a perfect opportunity to be the “maverick” of his reputation. He could have been the unifier. He could have done the right thing by allowing even those he had unresolved issues with, differences with, to come and pay their respects and to honor him. He could have shown the country, not just in words but in action, that no matter how great the differences we have with one another, we can move beyond them, beyond the anger, bitterness, pain, even our own pride and ego, to come together to do what is best for America.

John McCain could have done all these noble things. But he didn't.

If anything this further proves to me that he was a Democrat.

I don’t think Ted Kennedy’s funeral was this bad

They both died August 25. Ted was buried August 29, so 4 days shorter time.

FWIW, JFK died 11/22 and was buried 11/25 and that involved many international diplomats traveling to Washington.

The prolonged McCain funeral is nothing more than a hate Trump festival.

Why the secrecy? It is an anonymous current events discussion.

Good question. I figure HE planned SOME of this as his health issues had been around awhile, but OTHERS also must have been a part of it. Cindy? Meghan? Dem party?

I just find all of this appalling, especially Meghan and her long winded bitter speech today.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I personally didn’t listen to Meghan, but my folks were listening & I heard my mom say “she just bashed Trump”. There was applause from the crowd at the time.

John McCain was a classless. bitter, nasty, vengeful individual and his family is proudly carrying on in his stead. It’s pretty disgusting to use your father’s corpse as an excuse/reason & means to flog President Trump although I expected no less since Meghan did say recently she would never forgive President Trump for the things he said about her father.

Private funeral is tomorrow - we’ll still be getting pictures of motorcades, etc. Then that movie to get through in the next week or so. Then McCain will disappear from memory and happily, forever from the US Senate.

I don’t recall Kennedy’s funeral being this bad - the difference is Trump wasn’t president so the press/family weren’t using the death as a weapon against the sitting President.

It was always interesting, that McCain was not really from Arizona, and his line about not having any regional roots in America was another whitewash of history. He had plenty of roots, all in the state of Mississippi, where his ancestors fought for the Confederacy and where they were supremacist slave owners on their plantation. He had lied and said he did not know that his ancestors owned slaves but his relative wrote about it in a book that he claimed to have read, prior to the denial. (Reason he never went after Rev Wright, because of the shame of being a slave owner would have rebounded upon him.)

I understand there are a lot of black people with the name McCain and he was deathly afraid of being reminded of it.

He ran from his Mississippi roots.

Some history:

Bingo.

Who knew the courageous warrior, and country-first elder statesman was a petty, vindictive and common little man.

Most of the accolades come from people who never voted and would never vote for him.

It is an orgy of Trump hatred.

So Ivanka was there by invitation so that Meghan could bash her father President Trump to her face? Hope Ivanka learned a good lesson from this.

So Megan McCain took the opportunity, while giving a eulogy, to bash President Trump. Well Ms. McCain the country is better off without your father. He was a traitor to his party and to millions of patriotic Americans. While attending Annapolis, he would have been booted out for his conduct and grades, had it not been for his father and grandfather. As a pilot, involved in numerous crashes, he was described as a clown and incompetent. Fellow pilots have been quoted that he got away with it because of daddy and grandpa. He’s been described as American hero, by some, not in my book. He became friendly with his captors and supposedly only after being tortured was able to give an anti American statement to the world. His requesting @$$holes, Warren Beatty, Michael Bloomberg and Gary Hart to be his pallbearers, says an awful lot about this guy. To see all the hypocritical politicians fawning over him, at this spectacular, paid for by us taxpayers is thoroughly nauseating. No, John McCain will not be missed. MAGA!!!
