MILWAUKEE Foxconn Technology Group is casting a wide net to find the 13,000 workers it eventually expects to hire at its new North American manufacturing plant, partnering with universities and technical schools and even tapping into transitioning members of the military.
Foxconns next generation of liquid crystal display technology that will be produced in southeastern Wisconsin, the first LCD panel glass fabrication plant in the United States, will be used in a wide range of devices and systems, including televisions, monitors, electronic notebooks and self-driving cars.

Perfect qualifications for the HR department.
So funny!
I spent most of my career in the Human Resources department. But I had an MBA-Finance, and started with a consulting company. I did a lot of work around compensation plans, executive pay etc. When I hired staff, I always took people from finance or audit.
Which is a good reason so many businesses “can’t find people” for work.
They’d probably be better workers than some of the current generation. My late father worked on other people’s farms as a hired man at 12 years of age to feed his large family during the depression. Know any millennials who’ve done something similar?
I find it funny the democrats bash the money the state contributed to infrastructure and such on this , but the same people bid outrageous amounts for an Amazon warehouse..There are some good articles attached to this one that show a donation to the University of one hundred million to train the engineers they will need etc and many veterans will be hired. This is a huge deal.
I think the better way to state it is ‘unfortunately for Foxcomm, universities are producing a very limited number of students who are in the technical studies and competition is very fierce for those students. The remainders, found at most local Starbucks, have degrees in more intellectual studies that only they give a rip about.’
Building a state of the art Sharp TV plant
VERY cool!
You mean the grievance studies majors, or the denizens of HR, or both?
I'd also add the addiction to H1-B visas, who only hire fellow Indians.
They should recruit from the high schools and train them themselves. Also military vets.

Those 2 things combined is why the 2008 collapse had such a devastating effect on me. Should have been a piece of cake to recover.
The four page article not once mentions Walker who made the deal possible.
If you are out of work, Foxconn has (on one site) a nine page help wanted listing.
Many of them will have a 100k+ salary and the rest average 56k+/year salary. Some of them will even be put through college and a degree program on Foxconn’s dime ...
