Tuesday Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told reporters on Capitol Hill that he had “total confidence,” in his former U.S. Senate colleague Attorney General Jeff Sessions. McConnell said, “I have total confidence in the attorney general. I think he ought to stay exactly where he is.”

Many have heard that Sessions is actually doing his job behind the scenes theory.
......for far too long, actually. Clearly, the only strategy Magoo Sessions has accomplished is ‘playing possum’ so that the President’s enemies can use the Justice Department to wickedly fabricate false charges against him.
Far from being the pit bull that the Chief Executive needs to support the ‘Swamp Drainer in Chief’, Sessions’ passivity has allowed the turds to run the cesspool.

I realize that’s an extreme measure but McConnell creates problems beyond the typical RINO. He’s in control of the entire Senate and appears to be helping
the Democrats prevent President Trump from getting his cabinet in place. I believe he will block any attempt to replace Sessions. Through his PAC he has prevented conservatives from getting the Republican nomination for Senate or if they get it has worked against them. He is arguably doing more damage than any Democrat. He’s extremely difficult to beat in a primary because he has so much money to spend.
I am presenting the facts as they occurred. You are viewing them in hindsight. I don’t know what Sessions’ motivation is. But I do know that the present circumstances cannot be viewed as already in the motivational mix back in 2016. Then he was a candidate predicted to lose by all pundits and polls. Sessions’ early enthusiastic support can only be seen in that light. Now he is surprise POTUS and Sessions is AG. Unforeseen in 2016, as was Mueller, Rosenstein and Russia narrative. Pretending that all this was foreseen in 2016 is a distortion of history.
None of what you say is news. And while “He is arguably doing more damage than any Democrat,” that is ONLY because they do not currently have the POWER to do so.

Trump’s election was about stemming the flow of illegals into the country, and ending the system-gaming that kept them there. That’s why Sessions supported Trump early in his campaign, and that’s what the Trump presidency is all about. That’s no joke.
Russia Russia Russia is a total joke, and the longer Mueller and Rosenstein go at it, the less anyone takes them seriously. But it’s now what DOJ is about.

As stated above, the source of DOJ’s low esteem is Strzok, Page, Rosenstein, et al., as well as Holder’s Fast and Furious and other glaring scandals. The only way to restore respect to the DOJ is for it to consistently do its job. Russia Russia Russia will play itself out. Hillary will hang for her many crimes, along with the rest of the rogue’s gallery that tried to whitewash her by abusing their power and staging a witch hunt against Trump. If not hang, then solitary confinement for life. It was good enough for Pollard and other traitors. By 2024, when a caretaker POTUS is elected at the end of Trump’s second term, the lot of them will either be in orange jump suits or twisting at the business end of a noose.
In the interim, until that is done, you may as well blame Sessions for totally failing to split the sea or walk on water, depending on your religion. He’s not a miracle worker, just a career civil servant. And the problems he’s facing are not pre-packaged popcorn that can be thrown in a microwave and taken out all fluffy and delicious a few minutes later. It requires relentless dedication, and Sessions has that.
I don’t know McConnel’s motivation for saying what he did, which are probably nefarious, but I concur for my own reasons.
