Looking at the cell phone? Speeding around a blind corner?
Otherwise nothing here makes sense. Headlights would have seen the car from far back. Hazard lights would have alerted the other driver from maybe even further.
By bet, texting while driving.
Many people in the back pushing the vehicle. A good chance they were not seen. We do not even know if the lights were on in the stalled vehicle.
The group of kids were completely covering the back of the car. The approaching driver did not see them or the vehicle at all.
Sounds like the kids pushing the car may have been obstructing the driver’s view of the tail lights and/or hazards.
Can you link us to the source of the facts you are relying upon?
Can you supply additional facts from your source? Were the teens pushing from the front or back, and where were they standing with regard to the hazard lights on the car? What was the battery state on the car being pushed? Was the almost full moon visible or hidden by clouds? What were the weather conditions at the time? Was the road straight or curved? Hilly or level? Where was the car that was hit in relation to the lanes on the road? Any flares set out? What time Saturday night?
