Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain’s service to our country and, in his honor, have signed a proclamation to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff until the day of his interment.
I have asked Vice President Mike Pence to offer an address at the ceremony honoring Senator McCain at the United States Capitol this Friday.
At the request of the McCain family, I have also authorized military transportation of Senator McCain’s remains from Arizona to Washington, D.C., military pallbearers and band support, and a horse and caisson transport during the service at the United States Naval Academy.
Finally, I have asked General John Kelly, Secretary James Mattis, and Ambassador John Bolton to represent my Administration at his services.

This is why Trump does things the way he does them :-). It is to make liberals look like the asses they are.
Someone made a good point the other day ... when the President tweets or does something you might not agree with, it’s usually to rile up the liberal masses and torque them off. An angry liberal a day keeps the independents away! (from the Democratic Party).
Look at it this way ... say Trump threw this level of “support” behind McCain right away, the Libs (same freaks that called McCain racist and what not when he was “evil” in, and only in, 2008) would *still* be angry about it! :-).
Now that the President didn’t do it at first, sparked an outrage, then did it, then still sparked an outrage is yet another demonstration of how ridiculous the frigging liberals behave when they’re not in power.
There is nothing I like about John McCain. I’ve grown so cynical that I believe he chose Sarah Palin simply to wreck her political career (though she could have declined of course, but I like my conspiracy theory more :-) ).
He seemed like fraud to me overall though ... and you cannot tell me that he didn’t swing the 2008 election in Obama’s direction on purpose.
LOL. That item makes it sound like they would have otherwise been forced to resort to a Ryder rental truck for the occasion, doesn’t it?

A few years back, Ted Kennedy was lauded at the lion of the senate following his death. Haven’t heard his name mentioned in years except on the Howie Carr Show only because of Howie’s “Kennedy Babylon” book.
The Senate is filled with self important popinjays.
I’m totally good with this. Notice he did not heap praise on McCain so that Trump’s detractors could then scream “hypocrite”! Keep on going POTUS!
Meh, the guy’s dead. These would have been a few days of over the top phoniness regardless. Once he’s buried all this will be over and forgotten. Trump is just riding out the news cycle.
At the end of the day, McCain won’t be around to eff things up anymore.
But nobody elected her to anything.
This 24/7 McCain worship will be over in 5 or 6 more days.

They must have added an extra code for flag lowering...If you’re a dirty, rotten, miserable traitorous ahole of a senator, you get a full week of tribute.
Screw that. McStain didn’t want Trump at his funeral. I’d say that includes all the trappings. I wouldn’t give the traitor spit.
I never liked mccain. Had a good friend tell me after obama won, mccain lost on purpose. I agree now. Yes Trump loves to tweek the media. A main reason I voted for him.
And Fox News lost my support. I haven’t watched any of since his feat was announced.
