FOr being isolated Trump sure seems to be making a lot of trade agreements with individual countries...he’s just not making a deal with the grifters of the EU as a whole.

Anytime, any one, start saying how they want a “special relationship” with you usually indicates that they think you can do a lot for them, not that they intend to do a lot for you. Our relationship with the UK comes to mind. Now France says they want a special relationship with UK.

If your neighbor expresses desire to have a special relationship with you the first thing you would think, is “what does he want”?

Despite being a founding member of NATO, France withdrew from that military command in the mid-'60s and remained separate for the remainder of the Cold War. The French chose to pursue their own best interests and acted to preserve their independence and influence.
Now they presume to scold us for taking similar steps.

How many times does the US have to go bail out Europe for their stupidity costing American lives and treasure? And they being ungrateful later.

President Emmanuel Macron on Monday said preserving European Union unity was more important than forging a close relationship with post-Brexit Britain, and hit out at what he called U.S. President Donald Trumps aggressive isolationism. Socialism is an unworkable ideology. It eventually fails, but works better when participating countries are also miserable.
Once a country gets out and starts to practice free enterprise, that country will zoom past the places bogged down with destructive socialist policies.

The USA went to war after having war declared on it, and scored a decisive victory. The “bail(ing) out” happened afterwards at the behest of leftist traitors who saw an opportunity to weaken the USA from within and without.
Kaiser Wilhelm II’s vision for his empire was to have “a United States of Europe against America”. That vision never died, because the left of the USA kept it alive even after that vision caused two world wars.

"The USA went to war after having war declared on it"You talking 1st. or 2nd.? Japan never declared war on us, they just attacked without warning. In WW1 it was unrestricted submarine warfare - the Zimmerman telegram had little to do with it but was another reason.

“fend off the extraterritorial reach of U.S. sanctions”
The US will do what it takes to keep itself (and Europe) safe.
US sanctions are for the good of all and should be respected by all.

EU government overreaction to UK attempts to regain control of itself is making most of Europe very nervous.
The UK simply:
1. doesn’t want to have its welfare system overloaded
2. wants the ability to ignore inappropriate EU regulations domestically
3. wants the ability to sort out its housing affordability problem

America under Donald Trump is not isolationist, any more than it was under General Washington or Thomas Jefferson--the Myth that it was is part of a Leftist assault on the traditional concept of a nation. The myth should be challenged wherever it raises its ugly head.

Germany certainly declared war on us in 1941. That was unambiguous.
Kaiser Wilhelm II clearly stated that he wanted a “United States of Europe against America”. The EU is not separate from that old plan.
