That sounds like the plot for a 1970s-style disaster movie. I can it now...with an all-star cast...
*I can see it now...
On the other hand, if they pack ‘em aboard the way do in some countries, they might cut that break even date in half! :-D
We can hope a lasting result of a two term Trump presidency is a refusal to bail out states that create this sort of debt. Let them go bankrupt, at minimum!
Look at it this way, the way Jerry the Fairy and his cohorts are spending, can bankruptcy be far off? And did you see where the Dept of Treasury nixed CA’s idea that state and local taxes over the $10k limit could be “sent in” as “charitable contributions!” The RAT Party in CA isn’t going to last much longer.
Well, keep in mind I never factored in the time value of money and/or interest payments on the borrowings. We will call that a wash with packing ‘em aboard.
I an DIGGING IT!
Starring:
Ben Murphy
Kate Jackson
Ricardo Montalban
Cheryl Tiegs
Robert Stack
and many more!
I’ve never seen a null and void either. May the empty void be happy to encompass your nullness.
Charge the passengers for every little convenience - kinda like Spirit Airlines, but on rails.
Surprise, surprise, surprise.
The California bullet train project has cost state taxpayers an average $3.1 million a day over the last year a construction spending rate higher than that for the Bay Bridge, Bostons Big Dig or any U.S. transportation project in recent history.
...
That money is going in somebody’s pocket, so it’s making a certain set of people very rich and very happy.
Cynic...
Also starring:
Telly Savalas as THE DISPATCHER “Listen, pal! If I say we go WE GO!!!”
Robert Conrad as THE COLONEL “General, maybe you think we can’t bring ‘er through the pass. But MY team says WE CAN!!!”
William Shatner as THE ENGINEER “We’re NOT Slowing DOWN! Give ‘er FULL-THROTTLE!!!”
And Julie London as THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE “Is that you talking? Or THE TRAIN???”
Right on!
Based on the rate of progress on the devils slide tunnel project the bullet train will be completed in approximately 2164...
Seriously though, the main problem here is that once the politicians got this ball rolling they become able to utilize the fallacious argument of well, all that money we already spent will have been wasted if we stop. Try using that logic in investing...
Somehow, this would have to be a Quinn Martin Production.
This is built on relative flat land. Wait till they run into ravines, creeks, rivers and oh yeah mountains!
