No “Maverick” war-seeking loons like McCain please.
Take McCain to “Burning Man” and..well...burn him.
“And Ward is likely to lose Tuesday’s Republican primary to replace retiring Sen. Jeff Flake (R) to a more establishment rival, making her appointment unlikely.”
so if Ward will lose to a more establishment rival, and also in the article it said Ducey knows he has to sure up the conservative vote for himself, why not appoint Ward, let McSally go on to face sinema since lots of people seem to think she has the better chance to win against sinema?
That would give Ward 2yrs to prove herself before having to earn the seat on her own.
I’d laugh my ass off it he appointed a solid nation loving Conservative.
“The first-term governor has already begun considering a list of potential replacements”
Has already begun? LOL It’s not like he hasn’t had time to consider this while John McCain has been dying for a year.
Or Billy Joel.
Please dont.
“Cindy McCain, who may have served as a caretaker of her husband’s seat, is no longer seen as a potential appointee”
Thank God for that. I am hoping for a true Conservative who supports President Trump.
“Forget it, Jake, it’s Arizona.”
Seems likely.
But notice that he is “straddling the fence” (and thereby NOT assuring voters that Cindy McCain is eliminated, or an more liberal (establishment RINO) is appointed by not saying ANYTHING until after the primary (er, burial).
Sorry, but Arizona needs to put Kelli Ward in McCain’s seat. No RINOs, Ducey!!!
Woods endorsed Hillary on the front page of the AZ Republic. Zero chance.
Under Pressure? Cue David Bowie.
Or Billy Joel.

Or consult with Illinois former governor Rod Goblowabitch, on how to appoint a U.S. Senator.
I think it simply means Ducey is smart enough to NOT appoint somebody that just lost a primary...
The Republicans are split and angry. It would heal the Republican party like no other action. It is win-win, both sides of the Republican party get a Senator!
The loser of the primary only gets two years of a term.
Watch this guy wait until after the primary to F over the people by ramming in Cindy McCain.
Or Vanilla Ice.
How is he finished if he makes the decision after he wins the primary?
Amen!
Just feels like poking the voters in the eye that just chose the other candidate... IF that is what happens, I don’t trust poll numbers but my gut feeling is these may be right... Arpaio is the wildcard. Don’t get me wrong, I like Ward, just not sure she can beat Sinema in the General, she could not even beat McCain heads up in 2016.
But that said, I do see your point with a short term possibly having a healing effect.
