To me, this is just more revision of history. Another way to forget the past. That building is now named for Sen. Richard B. Russell. (Democrat). You take that name off the building, and then the fact that he even existed is erased, not just from history, but it blinds younger people to greatness before they existed. The name is there to REMEMBER (memorialize) a person. There’s always a new building being built in DC...name a new one after McCain, but leave history alone!
Better be careful about renaming, we might find out McCain or his wife or daughter said something at some point in their lives that was not PC. Or that McCain’s dad may have said something in 1949 that was not PC. Then the naming would have to start all over again.
There are a number of fed buildings that deserve to carry McCain’s name.

I think naming the Senate The College of Moral Zersos is appropriate.
I’d certainly vote in favor of “The John.”
Why do politicians “get off” at naming or renaming things (buildings, roads, schools, etc.) after themselves? The first thing out of Chuckies mouth. See how powerful and important we are? We can rename a building after ourselves.
