On September 29, the Strathmore is presents the film On The Waterfront with The National Philharmonic playing Bernstein's score live. I've seen the symphonic Suite to On The Waterfront several times, and it is majestic. IIRC, Bernstein demanded so money to create a movie score that On The Waterfront was the only one anyone commissioned.
