THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

HARRY WARREN

“ALONG CAME SWEETNESS”

The Ramblers now had themselves a reliable songwriter, and they made the most of it. Mort Dixon was the lyricist for this number. Note that even though it’s 1928 and the electric recording era, there is still a tuba backing the bass line. Thanks to digital re-mastering, we can hear what it sounded like fresh out of the factory.
