A dark day for Trump. The darkest day for the presidency since Watergate.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — There hasn't been a darker moment for a president — or for the presidency — since Richard Nixon resigned on the verge of impeachment in 1974.

On Tuesday, Michael Cohen, the president's longtime fixer and former personal lawyer, pleaded guilty to felony crimes that included illegally paying women hush money to help Donald Trump win the presidency in 2016. Most important, he said he did so at Trump's direction.

In other words, Trump cheated to win the White House, according to one of his closest former associates.

Cohen's admissions were so damaging for the president, both legally and politically, that his lawyer Rudy Giuliani could point only to the lack of an indictment directly against Trump as the good news. "There is no allegation of any wrongdoing against the president in the government’s charges against Mr. Cohen," Giuliani said.

The darkest day for the Presidency, EVER, was Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

I would suggest one other ingredient in this ‘watergate’ usage right now. If you bring up watergate....less than one-third of society can recite the basic description of what occurred. Most can’t even identify it to a building or a break-in. So when these dimwits appear and start chattering away on watergate, people are at a loss to describe what it means.

Actually, the “darkest days” (other than the many Obama scandals) was a President of the United States having sexcapades in the Oval Office with a young intern.

Highly disgraceful.

Trump is a ray of sunshine, no dark days there.

NBSLEEZE at it’s stupid best ! What does Watergate have to do with anything going on today? Well, there was an 18 and half minute gap in Nixon tapes and Nixon resigned and there is a 5 month gap of deleted 30,000 emails that “even God can’t read them” of Hillary’s emails that Hillary simply claims were only about yoga and Chelsea’s wedding. Comey said that all was ok because Hillary was only just a careless dumb cluck anyway.

It was a dark and stormy Daniel’s night.

Think of Frank Sinatra singing “Stormyyyyyy... Stormy Danielllls...” as a song for the Rat Pack (Democrats).

>>since Richard Nixon resigned on the verge of impeachment in 1974.

A reminder to the libs out there: impeachment does not removed a President from office...that plus conviction by the Senate does. It has never happened in our history (in terms of the Presidency). Yes Nixon did resign but he felt he would be both impeached and convicted.

Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were both impeached but did not get convicted. (I heard a folk music DJ on WKSU in Ohio on the night of the impeachment vote for Clinton and he said, ‘on this dark day in our nation’s history’)
Had impeachment been enough to remove, then Al Gore would have become Acting President in 1998. No, Bubba finished his term.

And one more thing, lefties—if Trump is impeached and convicted/removed, you get President Pence. Have a nice day!

JFK was known for his constant philandering, in and out of DC, and wife Jackie is said to have insisted that the White House beds be stripped of sheets every day and replaced with fresh ones. Not taking any chances. Our US press has become a daily, 24 hours, scandal sheet that is boring to a the populace which has become inured to this tabloid titillation. The media are simply democrat hucksters using sex as their lethal weapon of choice to kill off opponents. Pres Trump is a gladiator who fights to the finish. God bless him and give him the strength and wisdom to continue his fight to save this American Republic.

"It was just funny to watch Shumer deliver his lines about postponing the confirmation. He read the lines with no conviction."

That seems to be his MO. He just reads; shows no emotion or passion at all. Off the subject a little - WHO in the heck is that woman that always sits at his left - the one with the glasses and no expression. WHAT the heck is she there for??? Seems she is always there with him when he is speaking, like some piece of jewelry attached to him. Weird!

LOL! So much BS from the MSM. Wish harder. Spin more. Maybe you can wish it into being so.

The MSM is behaving like the 450 prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18:26-29. It was one person of truth vs. four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah. The MSM represents the prophets of Baal and Asherah, every single time something comes up that they can shout about!

Driven by their blind and mindless hate for Trump they continue to call loud and clear and slash themselves, without a modicum of regard for responsible journalism.

Get out the popcorn and continue watching this show. The Main stream media shows nothing but contempt for main stream America! Where are they going? Will they perish in their own excrement?

Nixon had a problem: the perception was that he had spied on his opponent in a Presidential election and then used the power of the state to cover it his misdeeds. There was a time in America when people of both parties thought that such a thing was bad.

Now of course Hillary and Obama spied on an opponent in a Presidential election while using the power of the state to cover up her misdeeds but American's don't seem to care much about such things anymore.

Will they care about a payment to a mistress? No, I don't think so. But with 100% media support the democrat party, which has been 100% taken over by the lunatic fringe, will take this as treason demanding the death penalty.

In 1998, President Bill Clinton was impeached by the House on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice stemming from his affair with Monica Lewinsky. But Clinton was not accused of any underlying crimes as serious as those which Cohen suggests Trump may have committed.

Just unbelievable.

This person considers paying a trollop money to keep a private relationship private is worse than perjury and obstruction of justice.

None of what Trump is accused of is even a crime.

That guy has some messed up priorities.

He also makes the intentional mistake of stating the perjury and obstruction of justice stemmed from his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

NO, it stemmed from Paula Jones’ sexual harassment suit. Clinton was working very hard to get the suit thrown out of court for lack of evidence.

The Lewinsky scandal was just the evidence Jones needed to bring Clinton to trial and hence the immense efforts in the Clinton administration to silence the Bimbo. Hence the obstruction of justice, suborning of perjury and his own perjury.

Jonathan Allen may be retarded.

1. Reagan shot by a would be assassin.

2. Clinton actually impeached.

3. September 11.

There are three dark days for three recent Presidents....forgotten by short busser J Allen.
