Yes, but, here is the problem. What they forget is the times and the frustration. Nixon promised to get us out of Vietnam and then the war dragged on for 4 more years. And we had inflation and price controls and the beginnings of the gas crisis that Carter then bungled. Remember the "can't afford steak any more. Well eat cheese [forgetting that cheese was also expensive an rising in price."
And then we saw Haldeman and Ehrlichman on the television and realize that we had our own real-life paranoid Nazis in the WH and at that point Nixon was a gonner.
None of that applies in the present circumstance. We are headed in the right direction, deregulating and with a growing economy [and the connection between the two is obvious], a responsible approach to trade policy, and we haven't started any wars to go try to fix some other part of the world and turn it into an American style democratic heaven on earth. Not bad. Not bad at all.
