That mockery looked set to continue this week after she took a leisurely stroll through Maines Acadia National Park, and declared it -- along with other benign Sunday stops -- an example of democratic socialism.
She cited not only her visit to the park, but also eating a breakfast sandwich at a cafe co-op, and supporting worker-owned businesses. She also added as a bonus that she spotted a Planned Parenthood branch helping people, per usual.
She posted a number of accompanying pictures -- including her relaxing under a bridge, and another of her smiling outside the aforementioned Planned Parenthood center.
But while worker-owned businesses may have a ring of Workers of the World, Unite! to them, Ocasio-Cortez took heat for what critics described as the common mistake of equating some things government-run to socialism.

ICE deports an actual Nazi from Ocasio-Cortez’s district.
And his action in usurping the land for the government was totally unconstitutional. Check it out.
unconstitutional
Poor old Constitution of the United States takes a beating, doesn’t it?
We have to take better care of it.
It was forced to shut down due to NYC's socialist policy of raising the minimum wage to $15 and having the domino affect of lease/rent rates being increased.
She apparently did go there on their last day open to rub their face in it.
Evil, stupid, and ignorant is a terrible way to go through life. She is all three.
I never called ANYONE a dumb broad, not once, but this girl is a dumb broad.
I’m especially fond of her healthcare related comment on the amount that will be saved on funerals.
.
There is one, and only one thing the government does really, really well: take what you have. After that, it’s the most disorganized and inept collection of people there is. Any why not? There is no incentive to be organized and efficient other than for the purpose of taking your stuff. Those who put all their trust in it are idiots.
But...you have to pay to get in. And...they have gift shops and other things that pay for operations...
Actually, most monasteries at first depended on the good will of the people. Then they grew into huge landholders, rivaling the barons and dukes. They relied on enfeoffed peasants, and later in the New World, Indian slaves. Only after the Reformation did some of them return to an independent monastic life.
I guess I should have been extremely specific about what era of monastic life I was referring to. /s
I know Liberals who give our highways, our police and firefighters as examples of Socialism.
raises eyebrows headline
If Maxine can take James Brown’s hairpieces anything goes.
and another of her smiling outside the aforementioned Planned Parenthood center.

Maybe PP could offer “Advance Abortions”, when a client is not pregnant, in case they might get pregnant.
Like remove all their eggs, or some such.
How’s that any different than the current process?
I am a bit confused. Why is a candidate running in the Bronx in Bar Harbor, Maine? Is she vacationing or campaigning? I dare say there would be very few people who could, let alone would vote for her on the island of Mount Desert where Acadia is located.
Living here in Maine, this is the first I have heard of this trip. Even our democratic socialist candidate for US Senate has not mention it on his Facebook page that I monitor for laughs.
And for the record, the Bushes were not part of the wealthy families that summered on Mount Desert. Walker’s Point in Kennebunkport was George H.W. Bush’s mother’s family home. Her family was more affluent then the Bush family
No one lives in a national park. Socialism works well in areas with no people.
She has no “district” as she hasn’t been elected to any office yet, she merely won the Democratic Party primary for congress in that district.
That’s funny...
