Rep. Duncan Hunter and his wife, Margaret, were indicted Tuesday on charges related to the misuse of $250,000 worth of campaign funds for personal expenses and the filing of false campaign finance records.
The charges of wire fraud, falsifying records, campaign finance violations and conspiracy were the culmination of a Department of Justice investigation that has stretched for more than a year, during which the Republican congressman from California has maintained his innocence.
Republican Party leaders had long worried that with a potential indictment looming, Hunter's traditionally safe district which makes up much of eastern San Diego County could be at risk of Democratic takeover in November's midterm election.

Everything particularly when it comes to “campaign money” must be looked at “6 ways to Sunday” to make sure that not only the law is not being violated but even that the appearance of what they are doing can’t be interpreted as a violation!
Martha Stewart went to jail for much less than that.
Everybody getting indicted for doing 1/10000000th of the financial shenannigans the Clinton crime family has done every - single - day for decades.
I doubt there is even 2 dems or repubs who have NOT misused campaign funds or other similar monies (taxpayer, grants, etc)

One of the charges Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to was “Campaign Finance Fraud.”
According to Politico, Cohen told the judge he acted at the direction of Donald Trump.

Toss him. Find a different candidate, one with a brain, pro-Trump but not to excess (this is California), a clean record and a pretty face.

Damn right. Charlie Rangel could murder someone on camera and Harlem would send him back to DC without a second thought. Hell, DC elected Marion Berry as mayor after he was caught dead to rights smoking crack and soliciting hookers on surveillance camera. Oh, they erected a statue in his honor too.
The same kind of charges sent former Rep. Steve Stockman, R-TX, to prison even before sentencing. Trump should pardon Stockman too.
