That is for sure.
But now what? Now Mueller is going to go tooth and nail for Trump and demand that interview. Unless Trump plans to admit to paying hush money, he needs to avoid an interview at all costs. But can he?
This is going to get ugly. Mueller is going to try to force the POTUS out.
So the rat basically will testify that candidate Trump ordered him to pay two women of ill repute. My question is whether this act constitutes a crime or even a violation of FEC rules?
Wow. Breaking news on both Manafort and Cohen today.
There must be a bombshell on the Obama FBI/DOJ election interference matter about to drop.
I know the Clintons will burn in the Lake of Fire for all eternity soon, but it would still be nice to see them spend the rest of their days on earth in prison.
John Roberts is lying like hell on Fox News right now about Cohen. Cohen did not say he was paying off the women to influence an election. That was the opinion of the prosecutor who spoke in front of the court house.
Roberts needs to take his lying ass back to CNN.
There are NO campaign contribution violations for a private citizen who enters into a Settlement Agreement during a campaign - per former FEC Commissioner on The Mark Levin Show weeks ago.
rump's name didn't come up in the federal courtroom in Manhattan, but Cohen said he had paid two women, apparently porn actress Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal, "at the direction" of an unnamed candidate in 2016, and that a $150,000 payment in August 2016 was for the "principal purpose of influencing" the 2016 presidential election. Both Daniels and McDougal have said they had past relationships with Trump.
I have the same question.... he’s claiming he used money from a home equity loan... and was reimbursed.... was the illegal act that he lied about the purpose of the home equity, or was he reimbursed from Campaign funds...WTF!!
BFD. Trump has already admitted that he paid back Cohen for one of the payments.
I thought that a few weeks ago they said that the money came from Trump and therefore it WASN’T illegal, because it’s not illegal to donate unlimited amounts of your own money to your own campaign.
Correct, but if the two conspired to cover it up, and the money was passed thru the campaign... its "conspiracy" and that is a federal crime.
Ping
The only important part is “for the principal purpose of influencing...”
I think it’s the women who showed up at that time trying to influence the election. It would make no sense for Trump to initiate contact with them to get them to try to extort him.
Faux Snooze calling Cohen the lawyer & “fixer”.....
John Edwards was charged with campaign violations for the hush money paid to his baby-momma.
He was acquitted on one charge and had a mistrial on the others because they could not get solid evidence of the donations from wealthy people.
Of course, the DOJ did not raid John Edwards’ lawyer’s office either.
I check Drudge less and less frequently! It’s not the ole Matt Drudge of days gone by!
As for impeachment, I thought the president couldn't be impeached for something that happened before he got into office.
Trump's team should drive home that Lanny Davis is a dem hack whose sole goal is to get Trump. He has obviously sacrificed his own client to go after Trump. To get his client to accept a plea deal in which he serves time for a campaign finance violation, among other things, seems so wrong.
Stay on the economy, all the good that he has brought and the ultimate goal to make America great again and keep America great again.
I believe Trump will fight harder than ever to get Republicans elected. Patriots have to get out and vote. And pray, pray, pray.
fed prosecutors are total rejects. Unlimited resources to intimidate the innocent to cut/compose deals. Prosecutors live by the maxim all are guilt of something.
